Most likely explanation, Luke Bailey (Marley's actor) had other commitments. They had to scrap a planned scene in Episode 6 of Season 7 where Sambuca visits Earl in prison to say her final goodbyes to him because Reece Noi (Earl's actor) was unavailable.
