I love the background art work on 51 and 52 Bowman sets. That Page is no exception. Great research and info of his life and career.

I enjoyed this installment. I am a Yankees fan but did not know a lot about Joe Paige. It seems that many of the players from this era had to overcome adversity outside of baseball to make it. They were tough times. Thanks for sharing more about his life. That is my favorite card of his.

Thanks for the comment. This is my favorite card of him as well, which is why I chose this one for my project.

Really cool story about Joe Page!! And I really like the idea you have of collecting the players in the Ken Burns documentary.

This was really great. Joe Page's autograph on cards aren't easy to come by. Page was also the roommate of Joe DiMaggio, and when a reporter asked him about his marriage to Marilyn Monroe, he said - it has to be better than rooming with Joe Page. Page's 1952 Topps has an error in that there are cards with the back of Johnny Sain.

That is a great quote from DiMaggio, from everything I have read, it sounds like Page was a pretty rough guy. That is interesting about the 1952 topps. Thanks for sharing!
