Andy, great video please keep them coming. Often there is little discussion, beyond practice or usable theory (in the West) as to why we do what we do, the language, and particularly the spiritual side to kendo, its rich history and true meaning of certain terms used, value of waza applied and the art of waiting. George/Kenshi 247 delivers brilliant, clear insight in the ‘Zanshin confusion’ post, your Zanshin video plus the diagram you explain in plain English are so powerful. The conflicts between pure and shiai style kendo, showboating and Budo are manifold. I am also struck by the lack of interest in learning and teaching kata and the importance of kata and iai in deepening our connection and understanding of the art. - (PG)

You have amazing videos. I restarted doing kendo after almost 9 years and it is very difficult to find useful and good quality informational videos about kendo. These are words constantly used by my masters in Hungary and finally when I am asked what they mean I will be able to answer perfectly. Thank you!

Great video. I am a long time martial artist (Kenpo & Aikido), but new to Kendo. Love the explanation of terms and rationale as well as the emphasis on striving for both the physical and spiritual components of proper striking. This is a great starting foundation to build on! All the best!

Great video and it really helped me as a beginner, maybe a video on how to get rid if the "kendo sicknesses" in particular doubt and hesitation (i believe these are two of the sicknesses). Great video again though thanks very much :)
