These guys were actually Rockers. Rock and Roll had alot going for it, then in the mid 60's it went into the toilet. The County Rockers brought it back. It's sad that mainline County is, now as disgusting as mainline Rock/Pop.

I saw them open for Hank Jr in the old omni convention Center in Atlanta in 91 or so, the drummer did a drum solo for what seems like 10 minutes man, he wailed on them things . after he was done he jumped over the drum set and did a shirtless pose down that Arnold Schwarzenegger would have been proud of. Pretty awesome concert all the way around

That this song peaked at #25, back then, tells you how great the music was in those days. To me this was a strong candidate for the best country song of the year, and I don't care where they put it on the charts. This song grows on you, and you sing along with it, so many others you get tired of and they burn out from too many listenings. I think this is one of the most inspired songs of it's time, for all the elements coming together so beautifully.

I had the honor of meeting them in a Jonesboro, Arkansas Wal-Mart in 1991!🤠 They were set to play "Pickin' on Nashville" at the A.S.U. Auditorium. I took off my tshirt & had everyone of them sign it! That was one of my #1 memories!💝

I was at a Fair that the Headhunters played. After the show was over and the crowd was gone, they toured the livestock barns. Had a great chat with the drummer, and he was just an ol' farm boy like me. It was a great time, to be around a famous group and realize that they had walked many of the same paths as me.
