Great video gentlemen. I am 53 yo construction worker. I just started lifting in August 2023. My primary goal when I started was weight loss. I was morbidly obese, riddled with pain from lumbar spinal stenosis and arthritis. I started reluctantly with body weight exercises and slowly progressed with weights. Within weeks of starting with weights, my pain gradually subsided, and eventually was completely relieved. Once I realized that getting stronger reduced my pain, I fell in love with lifting. I now have built out a basement gym and plan on lifting for the rest of my life. I have heeded your advice on prioritizing protein and walking. As a result I am down 83lbs since August 1. I feel better than I ever have. Thank you

I love your show. I recently started lifting again after not being in the gym for almost 20 years. I just turned 40, and decided I would get back into the best shape of my life before I turn 41. I've not been able to set aside funds to buy into any programs, but have been trying to absorb as much info as I can on protein intake and nutrition, supplementation, and lifting techniques. You guys have been very informative and supplied me with great knowledge on how to get me to my goals. Thank you for providing this knowledge to those of us who seek it.

I signed up for my first strongman competition in April. I went the other week to do a test pull with a firetruck, I sent my wife the video and ever since then my 3 year old son is telling everyone "daddy pulled a firetruck." It's the cutest thing ever, but kids watch us more than we realize so it's definitely important to set a good example of why it's important to be healthy and fit.

Great job! I’ve been lifting since 16 years of age none stop and turning 52 soon. I always felt more was better and definitely struggle with doing less. However after listening to your podcast for awhile I have been trying to do less. I’ve gone down from 5 or 6 workout sessions to only 4 but I still have to make myself not workout more because I love the feeling of working out! I enjoyed your story about the homeless guy and your striving to do more with your walk with Christ!!! Keep up the great work!

I recently lost my father and am dealing with immense burnout so I can sort of relate. Keeping up the gym has been vital for the mental health though, sometimes I get in there and just do one exercise and leave again. Other times, I go in there to do one and end up doing a bunch more. Either way, I'm always glad that I did it as it provides such immense benefits in helping me deal with everything that's burying me. But I get it, it's incredibly tough. I hope you find your way, God bless you

My goals are always changing, but the only reason I make it a lifelong journey is because of how it makes me feel! I love the endorphins, I love feeling real energy, I love eating in a way that nourishes my body, I love what it does for my mental health, I love feeling strong. But at the end of the day, what I love the most, is keeping a commitment to myself. It's the most confidence- boosting, rewarding thing I've ever done for myself. I am forever grateful for the way my body allows me to move and I love that what I'm doing not only has an affect on my current health and body, but on my quality of life and health when I'm older. My fitness journey has been about so much more than just fitness. It's lead me on a soul-searching path of self discovery and i continue to learn more about myself every single day. I've never grown so much mentally as I have in this season of health and fitness. For anyone out there just starting- keep going! Never give up. The journey is SO WORTH IT! Beyond the physical change!! ❤

I love this and am so happy that you guys are talking (well mostly Adam) 😂 about well-being vs physical fitness. Its a holistic approach! I struggle a bit with body image as well Sal. Its hard to "see" it without that part. Although this year my goals are to slow down a bit, sit back and journal, read and meditate. I also LOVE the talk about raising kids with the same foods we eat. Its ridiculous when parents feed their kids hot dogs & mac while they grill steaks! WTF?!? Thats so messed up! Let the kids eat what you do!! Dont give in to their tantrums either. Cooking separate meals is bullshit.

Where were the guys with the baseball hat, I absolutely 100% relate to what he was saying about exercise now, as we are getting older! I have never heard anyone say it in that same way, and I have spent so much time feeling guilty over that. When I was younger, I was so consumed with exercise, and I made sure that I fit it in every day no matter what was going on in my life and that’s great, But now I don’t want to spend an hour or two at gym, I wanna work out on the ranch and I want to go for a run and I want to stack hey to get my workout in so that I can spend time with my horses and doing other things. I’m so glad he put it in that way because it took so much of the guilt away. X athletes have a lot of guilt that we deal with.

My obsession with health and fitness and living a widely training/healthy eating-centric life is what has literally saved me from suicidality. Extreme body dysmorphia that I've spent decades attempting to get to the bottom of, has only been productively harnessed through my obsession with this lifestyle. There is no one-size-fits all "balance" goal. I personally think balance is horse shit and reads 'mediocrity'. As long as you are incredibly honest with yourself re: if you truly do appreciate what you throw your all into in life, and as long as you are doing said thing in a healthy and advantageous manner, I feel like certain personalities can handle an obsessive dedication and harness it to their benefit.

Question for Adam: Adam, how do you plan to utilize the semaglutide? What is you're goal with it? I have a couple months supply of Saxenda. I am not obese, but want to loose some BF. The one I have is very similar, except it is a daily injection that instructs to increase one increment each day. I plan to utilize it to assist with one 24 hr fast a week. But still prioritize protein the other 6 days at 200 g's daily. To answer your question Adam, it starts working fast. I've used it before and could feel it the first day. I also did not need to increase the dose as much as instructions say because it was that strong for me. It did make me feel nauseous and weird head feeling which I did not like. ***There is a risk of thyroid cancer with this product. Remember you are taking growth hormone too*** Love you guys! G

Adam, could it be that you're going to pee 2-3 times a night because you you have a high dose of oxalates in your diet? Quite common problem. Foods high in oxalates: Spinach, beets and beet greens, chard, sweet potato, baking potato, cocoa/chocolate, almonds, peanuts, chia seeds, buckwheat and quite a few others. This would also disturb your sleep as oxalates bind calcium, magnesium and potassium which leads to those minerals being depleted.

There's a reason the Greek's love for the human body died off until early bodybuilding when the display of muscles on&off with lifting weights for the crowd died off and now men&women are all focused on composition. Designer muscles aren't always useful muscle (in the real world)
