make some lip scrub. brown and granulated sugar work best, and I throw some raspberry tea in or coffee, then add some coconut and vitamin e oil in and stir. it's the most effective for dry lips and this recipe is on par, if not better than, Jeffree Star's 12$ lip scrub.

Awesome video! You explained things really really well. The only thing I want to add is don't rub your lips together like how you do after chapstick or regular lipstick. Keep your mouth open for a minute to let the liquid matte lipstick dry. Otherwise it'll get super patchy and uneven.

What do you do about hydration? Would you add a lip balm or Vaseline before lip liner? Does it affect the finish and staying power of the lipstick at all, will it make it slip?

I like to do lip treatment before I start my makeup and leave it on the entire time I'm doing my makeup and really give it time to do its job. if there's any excess left, I gently wipe it off before applying my lip liner & lipstick. it makes a huge difference in the application & look of my lipstick. hope this was helpful ☺

yes I do, I just purchased my second dip brow yesterday. I first bought dark brown bc I seen a lot of brunettes on KZbin using it, but I feel like its too brown for me and has a little bit of red undertones in it. So now I'm gonna try "Granite" I like it though. I use both the pencil and dip brow.. both are must haves.

Queen Helene Oatmeal honey facial scrub is also a terrific lip exfoliater.. I squeeze some into an empty, clean baby jar like the ones you get free with purchase at Clinique. Keep it by the sink for super convenience.

Your lips in this video don't look smooth after exfoliating! 😅 It's much more effective to use a heavy lip treatment, really soak the skin and give it time. The dead skin will just slough right off when you remove the lip treatment even without using grainy scrubs, which will often just break the skin and cause more harm than good! Much more effective!

Ditto. I was confused. I was like "wait wait wait. She skipped the lip treatment/chapstick". Every time you exfoliate your skin, you have to apply moisturizer. Same as lips. Exfoliate and then hydrate.

+hellocrisst Anything liquidy will usually do the job, so choose one that comes in a squeeze tube and not a jar. I've tried the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy and the Supergoop! Acai Fusion lip balm. It's kind of the same as rubbing away the dead skin after your shower. You give the skin time to soften so that dead skin comes off more easily without tearing.

sadly this a problem I have yet to find a solution to.. I just try to exfoliate often. I've been trying different exfoliators, I'll let you know when I find one that works!

hellocrisst yeah bc I seriously can't not use foundation and that's why. I've watched so many vids and I can't pass the thought of having a face with visible foundation on my face. And I use concealer and sometimes my skin can look chapped or dried out. I too exfoliate but it always comes back. It's a very annoying issue.

The lip paints? Their formula is pretty awful but you should dap some of the excess onto a facial tissue. You could also take the facial tissue and peel off a layer from the tissue, put it over you lips, and dab some setting powder with a powder brush onto the lips. It should set your lipstick and make it more matte.
