Great tutorial. Thanks. I think the 2nd de-esser at the 3.5 kHz range might have been what I was missing that was making it hard to control the sibilance! Looking forward to trying that out.

I find de-esser is important not just for vocal tracks in music projects but also for voiceovers. I'll have to try the one in Logic you demonstrated, I've been using that part of Tunca's CHANNEV which I find has a really great sounding de-esser.

funny, I was literally just messing around with this minutes before you sent this out. I ended up using a fader as a bandaid to rid of a ~sssss off a specific line, but now will go back and try this now that I understand it better.

Can you make a video on how to use saturation and exciter plzzz, im so confused on how you use this and how it works

Is there any benefit to running two de-essers in sequence? That can be an effective way to make normal compression sound a little more natural, but not sure how it might work specifically on a de-esser.... EDIT: Ha! Nevermind... just got to the 12:10 mark.

Great video. Do you de-ESS background vocals more than the lead?

Hated this video so much I hit the dislike button FOUR times! That outta teach ya. No but this video was super helpful! De-essers don’t get enough attention in the online tutorial world. It’s not fun or glamorous and may not get you the most views but it’s so important to get right, and not always easy to do, especially if the vocals are heavily compressed. So thanks for making this! I haven’t thought to explore lower ranges so definitely going to check out that 3.5k area next time and see if that helps.
