very good keys... Pro tip, have a buddy get really good quality POV footage of it.. grab a pair of spare handlebarz, stand in front of your HDTV in a riding stance, and play the clip over and over.. Works wonders for the "visualizing" step.

OMG Love it. That is so basic and fantastic and a guaranteed way to convince your family that lycra is not the weirdest thing about biking 🤣. But it would work for getting you head around complicated feature 🤟

That was a fantastic video Carl. That’s more often than not, how I like to roll when attacking features. A lot if the time it’s far easier to do than what ever your brain has built it up to be, but the feeling of accomplishment never gets old, to be honest the the feeling of apprehension is exhilarating also. Mtb wins every time 👌🏼

Most obstacles are mole hills from the other side. Getting to the other side is often the trick to be achieved. Maybe that is something else to trust in 🤟 Thanks Jules

i love seeing the progression of you older folks. it really takes an extra level of psychological commitment to achieve these difficult features. you cant bounce off the ground and recover like a younger people can. the risks are higher but you guys still send it 👏

As usual, great video Carl! I am pleased you conquered that jump. I know is intimidating but you did it!

Superb vid and great advice on progression Cal. There is nothing worse than knowing you got this, but your self preservation kicking in and telling you it's crazy! It always amazes me that you can just breeze over features just a few hits after they use to seem impossible.

True dat. Its like a barrier you smash through. Though there are features for which the door keeps swinging closed, forcing me to go through this process again and again. Lucky managing my fear is half the attraction to MtB 🤣. Thankyou Mr Huck

Nice work. “Emotional work” as you said is the key to that Reggies gap feature. Looks scary AF, is easy if you’re confident and relaxed.
@malmtb6 ай бұрын
Confident and relaxed - that's where you hope everything discussed here gets you to. It doesn't always. I'm very glad I stuck with it. Would have deflated the rest of the day to walk away not being able to stare this dragon down. Thanks Ben.

That's great advice for tackling features, and well done on getting that ticked off - the landing is so sniper that you have to be very precise. I've got two rules when it comes to something that scares me: 1) It's not going anywhere, if I'm not feeling it I'll come back another day 2) If I am feeling it, then today IS the day! Keep up the good work, not far to 1k now!
@malmtb6 ай бұрын
Cheers Craig, but Im very rarely 'feeling it'. I need another strategy / process 🤣 to overcome my fears Not too far to 1000? Correct in the same way the drop felt smooth and easy in hindsight. 🤟

Very cool video. The feature you took 6-7 run in looked really sketchy, that gap is something... I like how quiet your bike is through chunk. The singles are tech, rocky, slippery (so it looks), but yet your front or rear doesnt dance much under you. Interesting grip conditions
@malmtb6 ай бұрын
Sydney sandstone is very grippy and the Norco is set up for these conditions and my weight of course. And yes the gap feature was a but sketchy - blind run in and steep lander and rocky run out. It took some doing but as ai said - the Norco is set ip for this and I have faith in it 🤟
