Astonishing rider. Surely he was one of the greatest speedway riders that ever slung a leg over a bike.

Well done Kenny. The track was diabolical for everyone!

You have to admire Kenny Carters bravery in this meeting an many other meetings, in 1981 he rode with a shattered jaw wired up to qualify for that years British final, i watched Kenny at Hull and Halifax from when he was 16 and he was always a hard charging brave rider, but unfortunately he had an unstable personality that resulted in the terrible tragedy that i can never forgive him for.......

Had to laugh when Dave Lanning referred to Martin Yeates as "the young man from Wiltshire"!! He was 31 at the time and as many speedway fans will know, had been riding for years :)

I was lucky enough to see him race at Halifax and for too short a time at Bradford. Penhall robbed him of a world title though.

Penhall never touched him in 1982 World Final....... Carter robbed his whole family of life..... He doesn't deserved any sympathy for not winning a World Title.... he was a coward.

If Kenny Carter had not killed himself after killing his wife his career would have been over immediately he was arrested and would as of 2020 still be in prison serving a life sentence for murder with no parole
