You should look into the disappearance of Orin and Orson West. It was big here in Kern county. Two toddlers go missing. We're all pretty sure that they were un-alived by their family members. It was a pretty big scandal. Something to consider because so far as I know they still haven't found those two boys.

@@privateprivate6046 That is one of the first questions i asked when i saw the title, no shade, just wondering where the title of kidnapping came from. There are still a few misinformation's listed in this video as well. Katie didn't call the police, she called her husband and they did a three way call with the sheriff's office. Among other information that isnt exactly correct. Still hopeful that Sebastian comes home, runaway, or otherwise.

RSO is done this way, I've worked in the medical cannabis industry on and off for 5 years and I actually make it. That being said, if it was made CORRECTLY all alcohol should be purged out long before consumption...also, GHB used to be kind of a specialty of mine in my wilder days, and it's often cut with everclear, I wonder if someone mistakenly or intentionally was cut with isopropyl instead... Not to mention, MOST modern GHB is actually an analog called BDO (1,4 Butaneidiol) and it's what's called a primary alcohol...could show up as isopropyl maybe?

It's just horrific to think Riley didn't have a group of friends that would look out for each other. I've found my besties drunk, sitting on a bench with homeless people, drinking moonshine. I've stopped another one from going with a man that promised her 'ice cream'. It's dangerous out there! Stay together, look out for each other! If you don't have friends that could, don't go out drinking with them!!! In my group we had one that would always stay sober/very little drinks that would look out for bags and the rest of us. It worked and definitely kept us safe. What's probably the saddest part is that he felt like he had to pretend he's ok going past the cop. I am not sure if he just didn't want his parents to find out how drunk he was, but I am sure his parents would rather have a cop call them their son can't find his way home or pick him from hospital after he has his stomach pumped...

I think it is also different for men and women. Girl friend groups are usually aware that if your female friend is absolutely wasted and you leave her alone, someone is going to try to take advantage of her being fucked up. Guy friend groups i think main concerns about their guy friend being drunk is that they might get in trouble or get in a fight. Of course men also do get taken advantage of when they are in more vulnerable state from being drunk as well, but i do not think it is something men think about nearly as much as women do because women are much more likely to be targeted.

I’m a forensic scientist (forensic anthropology) and I can address many of your issues/questions. ETA: 0.1: Isopropanol I’m not a forensic toxicologist and haven’t studied it depth, but I do know hypothermia can contribute to isopropanol being found in an autopsy. I know there are other causes but this relates to a point I’ll later make about hypothermia. Another thing is that with decomposing bodies, chemical composition can sometimes compromise certain toxicology findings. It can lead to traces of chemicals you might not expect or change things like BAC. 1. Rigor Mortis. Rigor varies far more than you stated. It’s highly variable with many factors aside from temperature and time of death. The study you cited is quite limited in its scope. Rigor affects the muscles of the body, and you mention it being ‘in the joints’. I’m assuming you’re referring to something stated in the autopsy directly. The joints are affected because of the muscles. The way you describe it makes it seem to me like the rigor was almost ended and not affecting the full muscle groups. Since we don’t fully understand all of the factors that cause variation from person to person in rigor and it’s not especially anomalous (the water temp you mentioned is still pretty cold and would refrigerate the body fairly effectively) I don’t see this as remarkable or suspicious. 2. The lack of major injuries. It would be easier to address if I read the autopsy report, but all autopsies have diagrams illustrating where any injuries are sustained. I’m assuming since you said no major injuries there were minor injuries you didn’t mention, i.e abrasions and minor cuts. An interesting fact about extremely intoxicated people is that part of the reason they often come out of major accidents with lesser injuries than sober people is because they don’t brace themselves or tense up the way a person with all their faculties in tact instinctively will. The unedited video footage seems like he stumbled and hit his head, so he might have had a light concussion in addition to his high level of intoxication. This means when he fell he was likely quite limp, which could be the difference between major injuries and minor ones. The fact he was caked in mud suggests he might have slid through mud on the way in that helped protect him, although it could just be staining from submersion in muddy water or from contact with a muddy bank. Another thing about the high alcohol level in his system is that although we feel warmer when we drink it actually speeds and helps induce hypothermia. He didn’t die from it, but it certainly could have factored in to him drowning by exhausting him. He could have gotten lucky when he fell, sustaining no major injuries only to be too impaired by alcohol and a possible concussion to help himself and succumbed to exhaustion or unconsciousness brought about by the alcohol and exhaustion from cold water, as well as a possible concussion. You can easily sustain a minor concussion without notable visible trauma. Any bruises and abrasions would be hard to distinguish from something sustained from tumbling into the water and from any bumps that took place after. Floating down the river definitely would have left abrasions (and bruising when he was alive) and we don’t know how long he was alive in the river getting banged up on debris like branches and rocks. Some post mortem abrasions are difficult to differentiate from ones that happen immediately preceding death. It might seem unlikely he could have that fall without major injuries but it happens all the time. People walk away from accidents with no major injuries where others sustain broken bones or even get killed. It’s not unusual to see at all. 3: Drowning. I believe you mentioned in the first video no water was found in his lungs even though it wasn’t mentioned here. If this is true, that doesn’t mean he didn’t drown. People who drown don’t usually have that much fluid in their lungs and it’s a false idea that if there’s no water found in the lungs the person couldn’t have drowned. People do drown and are found to have no water in their lungs. In bodies where decomposition has set in and the lungs are breaking down it’s pretty common that the small amount of water you might have found can be more or less dissipated during the decomposition process. The fact they mentioned ethanol poisoning essentially means they believe his intoxication was directly tied to his death, so it sounds like their findings are that he fell in due to accute intoxication and drowned as a result. 4: The state of the body in general. I’ve dealt with plenty of bodies that have been submerged in water and people are often shocked at how well preserved they can be and think it must mean their deaths occurred much later than they did. Likewise, bodies in and out of water can rapidly decompose and seem like the person was dead significantly earlier than is known to be true. Estimating time of death in many cases is far from an exact science even for experts. Part of my specialty is trying to determine time of death when extreme decomposition has happened. This is why we have ‘body farms’ to study human decomposition under every conceivable condition. There are just too many variables to give straightforward guidelines. If people with countless years of study and research don’t find it suspicious then it’s probably for good reason. It’s an exceedingly complex subject that laypeople don’t really understand the nuances of, understandably, so they think things seem anomalous or suspicious when people who specialise in those areas know enough to be confident there’s nothing to investigate. Having seen bodies in remarkable states of preservation and even rigor after being in the water for varying amounts of time I can very much understand both why people find it strange and why the medical examiner determined it wasn’t suspicious. 5. The video. There are many reasons police withhold unedited footage. My undergrad was in criminology and it’s pretty standard. In a case like this there are a few reasons I can think of but can only speculate. Police can definitely be shady and sometimes withhold footage and information after a case is seemingly closed because of suspicions of foul play but that’s probably not the case here since it seems the autopsy excludes foul play. I’m just saying there are very legitimate reasons this happens, and it shouldn’t be assumed they’re trying to mislead the public. Generally if they want to mislead anyone, it’s suspects, not so much the public. Not saying that never happens, but there are generally legitimate reasons including the family requesting footage be withheld. If I read the autopsy I’m sure I could be more thorough and less speculative but I never read autopsy reports unless they’re related to study, research or work. I’m not judging people who do, especially if they’re publicly available, but I personally feel it’s an ethical boundary for me I’m not willing to cross. I hope this is informative and helpful though.

I agree 100%! I’m a nurse and my husband is a police officer. We do not have the extensive specialized knowledge that you do regarding the science of all of the above, but both have had a lot of experience with these types of situations due to our schooling and professions. I’m also not a conspiracy theorist and tend to believe in Occam’s Razor. The toxicology I know can be altered naturally when a person dies for many different reasons and from many different factors causing our bodies to alter or produce some strange chemical reactions. I also completely agree about a heavily intoxicated person falling-a lot or like mentioned, walking away from some pretty gnarly accidents unscathed because exactly like you brought up, they don’t tense up or brace themselves like someone typically would. There’s so many factors that could’ve played into this but I just don’t feel it was foul play. Same with the major of the “Smiley Face” incidents. And the ones in Austin, which is about 45 minutes from where I live. Mixing heavily intoxicated people who are often also under the influence of drugs and or regularly prescribed meds that can be exacerbated by alcohol, mostly in other urban settings surrounded by active nightlife-bars, tourist areas of large cities, or even at parties, all pretty close to large bodies of water late at night. They get separated for whatever reasons from their friends and unfortunately end up falling somehow into the water and the rest is history. Sure, people can and have been victims of foul play and people have been prayed upon and people have been slipped a drug to rob them or take advantage of them and people have met foul and were targeted for whatever reason and people have committed sui*ide etc. Anything COULD happen and strange things HAVE happened but it is not the norm nor typical.

The 2 ways I can think of that one would ingest isopropyl alcohol are through mouthwash and moonshine. Some people, especially those with addictions, have been known to turn to mouthwash when they can't find/afford/get served ethanol products, and many mouthwashes contain isopropyl alcohol. It sounds off the wall but is more common than one would think. With moonshine, some producers have been known to add isopropyl alcohol to "cut" the product, or to give it more of a bite, despite it being poisonous.

I'm surprised the disappearances are not more common. The sheer number of people combined with the massive amount of area to disappear into - be it woods, back alleys or industrial parks. In ages past it probably wasn't uncommon for relatively large numbers of people to just vanish. I'm also a bit surprised with AI and facial recognition, we don't have search and rescue drones zipping about with really good video cameras.

I'm so glad you brought Sebastian Rogers back into the spotlight. At the time his case came out (possibly mistaken but I remember it being the same day), so did that of Madeline Soto. My mother and I were shocked at the behavior of both sets of parents. They immediately struck us as bizzare and worrisome, with Maddy's being particularly striking. However, because Maddy's disappearance seemed obvious from the beginning, was solved relatively quickly and being fairly local to us, we forgot about poor Sebastian almost immediately. Thank you for keeping him part of the conversation. We may not be able to help directly but keeping focus on these cases does so much for the potential of solving them. It's good that Sebastian's getting a Part 2 because for most people, this is where his story left off. Love to the entire Lodge Fam. Edited for bad grammar😅

I’m an Autistic teen, of course not every Autistic person is the same but I do have some things to point out, 1) 15:10, some other statistics are; while we(disabled/neurodivergent people) are about 12% of the population we make up 26% of victims of violent crimes, and approximately 1 disabled person is murdered by a parent or guardian per week. The news handles all of this poorly. 2) 24:35, our distress tends to be very different from neurotypicals, what others see as something small or be able to power through it, an Autistic person might have a panic attack or a meltdown(we fully shut down and physically can not function). it is weird for anyone, but especially a Autistic person, to just leave in the night, our brains work differently then others we tend to make more logical(rather than emotional) decisions(we also tend to overthink a lot), and that kind of leaving/change would be very distressing(could cause panic attacks level) Sorry if my words didn’t come out quite right, feel free to ask me anything. And thank you for covering this case, like I said people and the news tend to brush us off a lot and ignore us.

Given how much ingested THC and isopropyl alcohol was in Riley's system, you may want to consider that someone tried to extract THC from shake and leftover junk weed with isopropyl alcohol. THC is soluble in ethanol and isopropyl alcohol. If someone used 70% isopropyl and thought they had boiled off the alcohol and left only the 30% water behind (not how evaporation actually works) but weren't as thorough as they thought, it would be easy enough to ingest a lot more isopropyl than someone reasonably should. Someone who knows what they are doing would have used something like Everclear or a similarly potent neutral grain alcohol but isopropyl alcohol is much cheaper and easier to get 24/7.

First, regarding Riley, I live in Nashville and have 2 kids in Greek life in other states. They go to formals and other out of town events all the time. Huge rule.... you NEVER leave your friend behind. My son & his girlfriend talked about one of his friends they always have to walk back to the hotel. As far as the fall and isopropyl alcohol, the area he fell in is easy to fall in dead sober. They found 3 bodies while looking for Riley. It is possible to roll down the embankment without too many injuries. A lot of our homeless population drinks watered down isopropyl alcohol. It's possible he may have gotten a drink from one of them, or his friends were stupid and played a prank on him. Regarding Sebastian, I believe kids from his school lured him out to prank him, and things went too far. He lives right by the high school, and according to all parents, he wanted friends more than anything. Unfortunately, he also lives very close to the same river Riley was found in, but here it is dammed off into a lake. His neighborhood was still being built and had no street lights, which made it hard for cameras to pick up anything unless it lit up. This is why I don't believe the Proudfoots were involved. Their vehicles' brake lights or head lights would be caught very easily in the dark area. It also makes no sense that the stepfather would drive from Memphis to Nashville to harm him and then be back at work on time in Memphis in the early morning. Sebastian also could have become a runner. I know his parents said he was not, but he is a teenager, and puberty affects medications a great deal. It could have been a case of be wasn't a runner yet. When my son was that age, it seemed that we were constantly changing medications, and with each one, there were new side effects we had never seen or expected. One even caused auditory and visual hallucinations. The police did do an extensive search for him. We live close to 10 miles away, and our neighborhood was blocked off for the police to search outbuildings ,crawlspaces, and woods. The reason I think it was other kids is the flashlight footage Nick Beras showed. The police said it was a trash truck, but if that were the case, why would it be in the backyards of homes and not on the street. I think they just do not want to reveal all the details they have yet.

I see two real options, He was murdered by his parents (specifically the stepdad) bc well disabled people are more likely than their abled peers to be murdered or otherwise injured by their parents. And two he actually ran away for some reason I say this as someone who contemplated running away a few times, who is autistic, leaving the phone (easy gps tracking) and shoes (probably had a second pair either brand newly bought or old and believed to have been thrown out ) is an easy diversion. As would be wading through the pond, which could wash off your scent. Pack a change of clothes in a different style, perhaps placed out at the school grounds the day/days prior, cheap black hair dye, a cheap new pair of glasses/old pair that still works, snacks accumulated over time and a friend(or predator in disguise) which could house him until he hit 18. Add some funky makeup, it leads to a person who would 'look' too far off their description to be 'recognized' by strangers. There was the case with the girl who did just the same thing, left out her window and over the fence to be picked up by someone unknown who only reached out after her 18th birthday to say " hey im not missing, take me off that list please"

There's like nothing out that way. I went to Beech in the late 90s and it was less populated then but even now, that area is kind of "out there". They've built a couple of what looks like VERY small subdivisions off that highway but there's still plenty of open and wooded area surrounding it all. And those "subdivisions" are the kind with hundreds of houses. Last time I was up there, the few in the area were all separated, and you could easily get off your street without being seen. It's only a few minutes from Hendersonville proper, where it gets really busy and crowded, but I think most people out that way aren't that worried about crime. Most opportunist criminals aren't going to go out of their way to try to break into a house where there's only 1 highway to get away and a bunch of people own guns.

@@mommy2libras still the fact that they weren't seen on any trail cams or any type of home security system is kinda baffling because in most suburbs like that you can't walk on the sidewalk without a ring camera variant getting a recording of it. but i do see your point that it is in a relatively secluded area outside of the neighborhoods.

@@DietSpineI think it's because there are no streetlights in his neighborhood, however there are cameras and lights going into it and all outside of it. I think if any of the parents were involved they would have picked that up fairly quickly.

It turned out that they were in the process of adopting the missing boy at the time and legally weren't allowed to come forward. I believe Katie and the stepdads 3 hr phone call is very suspicious. Who talks to their spouse that long unless a cover up was being planned. Around the time of the flashlights being seen a suv was spotted parked on the street where Katie and Chris (step dad) backyard goes thru the neighbors backyard and comes out at. I think Sebastian was being delivered to that suv unalived. The stepdads mom (Terri Bowersox) was seen at a gas station near the home around 6am. She drives a suv that has the same layout as the one spotted parked on the street around the time flashlights were seen. She admits to being at gas station but won’t say why. On the Nancy Grace show the bio dad (Seth) says he thinks Katie over medicated Sebastian and that resulted in his death. Comments from the stepdad(Chris) like, “this will be a case that’s studied for years”, and “he’s never gonna be found”, make it seem as Sebastian has been unalived and he and the mom knows more. Katie and Chris were both ex military so should both own pickle bags. The long green bags they get to keep after service. Makes me wonder if both those bags are accounted for. There’s also video footage online that shows shadows of ppl outside that looks like there is a struggle going on. The stepdad Chris has family that works for the sheriff’s office that is conducting this case. Many think that is why there has not been any arrests made. Hopefully that’s untrue and they’re just gathering more evidence first. The sheriffs office not treating this case as criminal in the beginning has resulted in things like luminal not being used etc. Makes you wonder is they’re protecting this family bc of family members working there. They refuse to turn the case over to the fbi.

The case is extremely sad and we know after 48 hrs that the probability that the victim is alive is very low. It seems like CP wanted his daughter and did not want Sebastian in the home. I’m perplexed as to how he got custody with this missing persons case looming. They seem to have connections in more than one area….

May I ask why so many people are certain that long phone calls are linked to crime? I've had dozens, if not hundreds, of >1 hrs phone calls, none of them even remotely linked to crime. Most people I know are the same. What is the big idea that phone calls are linked to crime?

This is a kind of case that is extra hard. I am a mom of 3 boys who have autism and I see my children in him. My heart breaks for his father. When you think of Sebastian being scared, confused, god forbid hurt and alone you hug your children a bit tighter and pray so hard that he is safe and makes it home safely. We know the horrible truth of the statistics but you pray for that Hail Mary that he beats it.
