It really speaks to the brilliance and honesty of this man, that even in the crypto space where no one can agree on anything, most love him and all respect him. He's arguably done more for the crypto-space as a whole than anyone, and almost certainly has done more to facilitate understanding and adoption, turning people on for the first time, or more importantly shifting their perspective on the importance and usefulness of this technology from its a fad, magic nerd internet money or worse only for drug dealers and terrorists, to its potential to aid some of the worlds biggest problems. If you haven't seen the early video from at least 5 years ago of him speaking to the Canadian Senate, its amazing, especially to rewatch now and see how far things have come.

Hi Andreas, a project i've been quite heavily involved in -NavCoin- has a community fund that is a completely decentralized DAO that we are now programming into having a governance function too. The example of the partial payouts you give during your talk, we have that build in with out CF too, where the make of the proposal, proofs to the network the work was done and can request an X amount of the reserved funds. We are still only at the beginning of this amazing new world we are building! Good to have you, such a knowledgeable person on the right side ;)

...ah the largest deployment of public key cryptography is TLS (or SSL). Every browser on the planet. Also used in every VPN, WiFi, Bluetooth and every HDMI interface. It’s not crypto block chains which is relatively new.

Science is what you do after you have a belief of reality, then you just test it, wheater it's true or not, it's what kind of science you use to test it. If you believe the world is round, you use the discipline of natural sciences, if you believe in metaphysical reality, you use the discipline of theology etc, etc. It's all about category. Andreas, first of all amazing video and thank you for your presentation. I want to touch upon one topic: You say that in 2014 you originally were in support of big blocks and then you changed because you recognized that Bitcoin became ossified. Yes, Bitcoin became ossified, but this was assisted through censorship of opposing ideas. Bigger blocks were about to win & had majority of miners signalling on-chain support. It wasn't until Segwit2x that this was bait-and-switch changed by agreeing to Segwit and then reneging on the 2mb upgrade. I am really surprised you don't publicly recognize this happened, and equally surprised you support actions which employ such tactics. Sure, you don't get paid by Blockstream (that was a funny joke), but it's as if you became blind to or ignored obvious manipulations occurring within Bitcoin. I know you are smarter than that, and I personally have a higher expectation from you. How did you come to omit such important factors from your stance?

I do like Andreas and what he's doing but he might be wrong pretty soon on the point that there is not a 'crypto project' that can solve all of money/smart contracts/nation wide scalability.... issues. And i'm not talking DPOS, DAGS projects here. We're a bit stuck in the blockchain paradigm. The money problems can be solved with something else other than blockchain. The killer app of Bitcoin is p2p cash. BTC no longer represents this ideal. BTC is now a "store of value" , "digital gold" and a settlement layer for side-chains. Blockstream and Core co-opted the project to suit theirs and others actual ends, eg "layer 2 solutions". To experience Bitcoin, one should try Bitcoin Cash BCH, it works like Bitcoin always did until blocks filled due to network transaction demand causing huge tx fees and slow conf times. BCH js a reaction to the failed New York Agreement (Segwit + 2mb blocksize upgrade) and represents a p2p cash system which has always been the goal of the Bitcoin project.

I hate the fact that Ethereum is compared with bitcoin all the time. Ether is not money but a currency (tool) for coding decentralized stuff and smart contracts ect.. to many people only think about investment perspective. Bitcoin maximalists are like E-mail maximalists! what about http? ftp?.... I'm sure that soon everthing will be tokenized in 1 way or another.
