Side profile lines of a supercar, headlights of a rally car, styling like an Italian artist....and that dark green with those copper/gold rims are just....woah. too bad only 37 of them for the world, wonder if this will be the only one with that color scheme combo? I think that the 037 stradale is the most beautiful car ever made. And what the car was capable of doing, being the last rwd to win the wrc beating the Quatro just makes it better. 😕 Oh, dear. You seem confused, @@GregKirk-j5y. I didn't say the entire team were useless, or that I could do better. We're all here, watching these vids, and we can compare them. In this one, the drone shots seem fine, and some of the on-road shots are good too. I think the in-car shots in particular, are definitely lower quality than many of the others Derek presents. (Yes, I know there isn't a back seat space in the EV037, where a camera could be mounted, or a cam operator could sit. I'm still confident that much better shots have been taken in similar smallish cars, in previous DTS vids.)

Since lots of people are commenting… the seat and steering wheel position in this car were not final as it is a preproduction car (Chassis 001). The driver is also 6’4 😁 Another frequent question is regarding the engine. It is a twin-charged engine with the supercharger engaging below 4,000rpm when it disengages using a clutch and the turbo takes hold. Similar to the Delta S4

What could be more sick 😂? - Old school street driven sleeper engine of lancia 2L 8V is also potential and just needs a little bit more engine love. 8V engine showed around 618Hp / 783Nm in dyno. Integrale 8V had more power than in modern Ford WRC 16V rally cross engine, which also was tuned and tested for comparison. 16V WRC type rally cross engine of course has more potential but nasty class mod. limitations prevent 600+.

I miss the old style. The old style is easily more entertaining. And it's why you're here in the first place. Because it enthralled you. The current style is more of history lesson than driving. I live in France and Gamma engine are also real cheap (around 300$), Volumex supercharger are more expensive and often priced between 1500-2000$. You can't expect people from other countries to pronounce names of rare car brands correctly. Most of the world doesn't speak italian, and we don't learn how to prononuce car names in school. I can give you some old Norwegian car brand names and complain about your pronounciation, if you want.

Thank you: This car is gorgeous both physically & mechanically and this video takes me back to the early 80's. At 15, I had a Saturday job helping out at a local Lancia garage, before leaving school to start an engineering apprenticeship with Audi. Spending a lot of my weekends on rally stages, it was the most wonderful time to be a petrolhead. I was torn between my heart (Lancia) and my head (Audi) but new cars were beyond my reach, so at 18 I bought a beautiful used Beta HPE. My friends laughed and joked that it would wash away in the rain but it had such character, that I could forgive it anything. Forty years later, I'm still torn and both my 'rally heroes' are still beyond my reach but in my fantasy garage, there would be both a Sport Quattro and an 037 - just because, head and heart.

Having owned two Lancia’s… there is something in this dna that nobody gets. As for this masterclass of workmanship, well it’s a solid wet dream. Truly not for everyone that’s for sure. I often come here from toned to time and play it, the sounds, the amazing behind the scenes development makes me understand, that this is what a real petrolhead would want to shift up through the gears only to feel subhuman with this Kimera. 😍

What a video (for both the story, the edit, the sexy shots and the sound). And then, what a car... Thank you.

DTS, great episode! Thank you! PS. That Graziano trans you mentioned was also used in 2008-2008 DBS 6MT cars and F430 6MT cars.

I live in the states and i remember seeing my first Lancia in 1986. Fell in love with the looks immediately. Cant remember the model but it looked like this car in the front,

One of my favourite Lancias of all time that was both massively underrated and under appreciated.

Glad to hear some enthusiasm in ole Hyphen’s voice. These videos used to be boring because it sounded like someone was reading a transcript to a sociologist. This has quite a bit more character than the last time I watched although you can still tell that Derek is reading a script. Much better though…keep it up, big homie. 🤘🏻

Great to see an analogue supercar with power that isn't absurd, but still thrilling for 99.9% of drivers
