Technically the kings mother has no authority the fact her son is king means she was not the queen by birth but by marriage as soon as her son became king and his wife queen the kings mother became lower rank than the current queen charlotte could and at this point should order the kings mother removed for disrespecting her queen.
@williamalexander61303 ай бұрын
That’s not how that works, and she’s still “Queen Mother,” and no she cannot be removed for talking to the “Queen Consort,” that way bc Queen Consort doesn’t hold real power 😂

In Chinese royal culture it is the reverse. The emperor's mother is titled queen mother or dowager queen, and she is always above her son's queen. Even the king has to pay her respect and bow to her in private. Her job includes disciplining and training the new queen and the the other wives.

As much as I hated George’s mother, I have to admit that she did what she could at a time when mental illness was not well understood. In those times it would’ve been easier to just take an infant from someone lowly and kill their own so that no one would know of his “problem”. She was by no means a great mother but she kept him alive and somehow kept the court from knowing really just how bad George’s condition was and which also meant he wasn’t deposed or possibly killed. For better or worse she found the perfect wife for George, even going against popular opinion and choosing someone who wasn’t snow white. She seems like someone who was also raised without love from her parents and mostly cared for by staff just like it appears that Charlotte and George do with most if not all of her 15 children later on. It’s kind of understandable considering she had to be her husband’s support to get him to be able to do his kingly duties as well as attend to her queenly duties as well and not let on that her husband is progressively becoming more and more unhinged over the years.

kind of, they arent as thick as youd assume (most interior walls nowadays are less that a foot in thickness, and its mainly empty space). many walls in castles and mansions are hollow and able to fit a person through; the servants were able to hear the royals needs and get in and out quickly and efficiently. the hollow walls, giant rooms, huge open doorways, very high ceilings, and grand hallways, and being surrounded by quiet stone- i assume it echos quite loudly. theyre also like, screaming xD

Also much of the royal jewellery collection is old, Lady Danbury would have newer, more modern in style jewellery. At that time receiving the gift of a personal item was pretty big deal because most things don't "belong" to the individual, they belong to the estate and are "used" in the moment to be handed down. The literal original example of generational wealth.
