The King of Fighters '94 Re-bout playthrough (PS2) (1CC)

Playthrough with Rugal, Saisyu and Ryo. This game was made as part of the KoF 10th anniversary celebrations, and it features new backgrounds along with cleaned up sprites. An edit mode was also added, letting you pick any characters you wanted for your team (you couldn't do this in the original game). Rugal was also made playable (well, his second form was) and Saisyu Kusanagi was also added. Neither of these characters were playable in the original.
Clearly not enough time was spent updating the A.I., as it doesn't have a clue what to do against Saisyu's two hit lunge move most of the time.
Re-Bout was only released in Japan. An Xbox version was announced, but then later cancelled.

Got this game at tax time last year finally. That damned intro man, it sends a chill down my spine everytime I hear and see the damned thing. It was the last 2D KoF I needed for the PS2, feels so good to finally have every last 2D PS2 KoF game in the collection at long last (not counting the 00-01 double pack, Nests Hen covers that for me, plus it has 99/99 Evolution, instant win). Of course the US double pack of 02-03 was so damned expensive, I spent way less getting the separate Japanese releases for both, way less money in the end. And no, I don't have the Orochi Collection for the US PS2, Orochi Hen covers 95-97 for me, this covers 94, and KoF 98 UM covers 98 for me, since the original Neo Geo ROM for 98 is on it (like 94 original is also on this). I do love this particular version of 94 for one major reason, that edit mode. I had longed to have my Athena/Mai/Yuri team for 94, this was the only way to get it.

Of course I play Rebout with the original music and backgrounds too, you get the original backgrounds of regular 94, with some nice crisp clean character sprites.

Congratulations for finishing your collection. I've been selling mine off myself, but I have kept a few of the PS2 ones (2003, Neowave XI, 2K2 UM Tougeki ver. and the two MI games)

Thank you, was glad to finish off that part, still working on finishing off SNK fighters for all the consoles/handhelds I own (KoF EX2 GBA is a bit too pricey sadly), and finishing stuff off, like having all the Bomberman games that I like for consoles I own, or early Puyo Puyo games for those consoles. I could never sell off any part of my collection, it's taken far too many years to get where I am now.
