Ruined stages. And they were so good in the original. It's just that SNK didn't learn to make these early 3d stages as good as Capcom when the "3d stages in 2d fg" trend heated up with MvC2. Not that everything was bad but the change to 3d absolutely wasn't worth it overall.

The game has a godly intro and great visual upgrade but very unfortunately the devs ruined all stages. And stages were so great in those 90s games. The old SNK designers imo had an artistic sense higher than that of Capcom's SF designers at the same time. Besides, those early KOFs had stages intros, another innovation in presentation from SNK. So that 94 Rebout staff just ruined an excellent job by the old staff.

This is the remake of KOF'94 Re-bout. I always wanted that game for the PS2 but it was in Japan only. It was coming on the Xbox original till it got canceled. Oh well what can I do. KOF XV it's better anyways.

It's a remake, and the devs were taking full advantage of that. They added those characters watching the fight to show that these characters existed back in 94, even if they weren't taking part in the tournament.

I also find it silly. It could have worked better to just use a regular generic crowd. The original stages were perfect, there was no need to change them so radically.

@@carlosaugusto9821 Yeah, the vanilla KOF94 have amazing stages, full of details and many people in the backgrounds suporting the fights. China, Japan, Italy, Mexico have lost this charm now. Encima Mexico y Brazil, no se que tiene SNK con las plataformas móviles.
