It's hard to tell from a KZbin video, but the Saturn version has a higher resolution, and slightly more frames of animation. This coupled with faster loading equals a win for Saturn.

In the case of King of Fighters 95, specifically, that is not correct. Both the PS1 and Saturn versions have every frame of animation represented. For the later releases (Kof96, Kof97), the PS1 version starts to lose frames against the Saturn version.

@@Gatoflojozzz Not this one. But there's lots of games that can and works better than it's ps1 version. This argument of the cartridge just exists because sony fans can't get over it. All capcom fighting games pre-cartridge works better on saturn. All 2d fighting games that runs without the cartridge too (MK games, for example). And, as a plus, saturn had the cartridge to make games even better. This information doesn't make ps1 games crap. They are incredible! But saturn is better. Get over it

Is the Saturn port soundtrack playing from the CD? In this case, the rip from the original sound hardware sounds a little muffled. Or maybe its only my impression.

The Saturn version does use one arranged track, the special ending theme for the Psycho Soldier theme. It has vocals in it, and all CD versions use it, the MVS and AES versions did not due to not using vocals, or a special ending for the team.

Sega Saturn é indiscutível nesse quesito, todos melhores da SNK e Marvel no da Sega, tenho o Saturn até hoje. Se a Sony não acompanhava na época, paciência. Pra esse KOF95 não era obrigatório cartucho de 1MB de Ram, do 96 pra cima sim. O cartucho de 4MB só pros da Marvel x Street e mais alguns.

A versão do psx tinham músicas arranjadas, enquanto a do saturn tinha as músicas do arcade. No quesito gráfico, prefiro o saturn. Me parece mais fluído e tem mais detalhes, como o zoom no estágio da Itália.

If I remember correctly kof95 for sat was the first and only game to have a rom cart as it was slightly different to the later ram cart because the rom cart was the one holding all the backgrounds for kof95, animations etc, it was later changer to a 1 meg ram cart for later snk games, this was a neat idea because we had no load times and all frames of animation and capcom had thier 4meg ram cart, xmen vs sf had no load times between bouts. Saturn is the modern day neogeo it's shame snk didn't port thier entire games catalog would of love to of seen king of the monsters, super sidekicks, soccer brawl ect but snk were pretty much broke by that point shame.

KoF95 is the first of two games to use a rom cart. Ultraman-Hikari no Kyojin Densetsu also uses a rom cart and came out the same year as KoF95.

They realized how stupid it was to release a different ROM cart with each game, needlessly raising their price and killing the purpose of storing the game in a CD. The RAM cart was an awesome idea, cause buying just one cart allowed us to play all the games.

More RAM + ROM cart = Far shorter loading times + more frames of animation. Add to this the fact that SNK games for the PS1 generally lacked in several areas, even on those titles specifically designed for the system. Easy win for the Saturn.

O SEGA Saturn era um console extremamente parrudo. Trabalhava super bem com 2D, tinha cartucho de expansão que fazia diferença real, não dava problemas, não precisava de memory card, etc... masssss perdia feio nos jogos 3D, como tem 2 processadores e trabalha de uma forma completamente diferente com poligonos e texturas e com pouquissimas referencias para os programadores e ferramentas isso tornou-se uma bomba e deu uma vantagem absurda ao Playstation... quando bem usado o Saturn produzia jogos 3D excelentes.... mas são poucos games que fizeram isso.... o resto todo mundo já sabe!!

King of Fighters 95 had its own ROM cart instead of using the RAM cart. It made the game very expensive to produce. I'm sure that's why all the sequels used the RAM cart.

Pelo q joguei no ps1 na época,lembro q era bem bugada no quesito da hit box,tipo o Rival te acertava um Genocide Cutter é antes de vc cair ele te acertava outro no ar e o especial do Takuma,quando acertava no inimigo, no momento q o adversário ficava tonto para tomar o Hao Sho Koken,ele conseguia sair do tonteio e esquivar! I feel honest there is almost no difference between the two but if there is something in PS there is more loading time a little absurd time is like 15 seconds in a 2D game in Saturn the time is much more respectable if compared with the Arcade nineteen ninety five

It looked like this on the Neo Geo as well. Even though the PSX was capable of doing transparency, my guess is that they didn't change it when they ported the game. Anyway, 2D fighting games always looked better on the Saturn.

The PSX is skipping some frames. Sometimes the characters move but the fog is static between 2 frames, sometimes 2 successive frames are completely identical. I doesn't seem to be a problem with the way the video is captured because it doesn't happen at regular intervals.

O ps1 adotou as músicas da versão neogeocd enquanto o saturn a versão arcade. Além disso existem diferenças nos efeitos sonoros.... O Saturno por usar cartucho de expansão consegue reproduzir os efeitos sonoros igual ao arcade (vozes e outros sons) sem perda de qualidade ... Já o ps1 perde qualidade nos efeitos sonoros por comprimir dados para evitar maiores loadings . O som e vozes do Saturno tem o som mais límpido e o ps1 mais abafado. Quando o saturn adotou um cartucho único de expansão para kof96 e kof97 também perdeu essa qualidade por comprimir um pouco os dados de efeitos sonoros ( sem cartucho dedicado a um único jogo). Mas a música no ps1 roda limpo sem perdas em relação ao neogeocd por realizar a leitura no disco.

Yo tengo las dos versiones... Y definitivamente la de Saturn se la lleva de lejos...primero lo más resaltante el tema de carga en Saturn por la Ram es casi inmediato...segundo el tema gráfico la de Playstation hay muchas animaciones que recortan y otras las quitan...siendo la de Saturn más fiel al arcade...tercero ,en mi caso prefiero la música arcade por que se siente más para el tema de pelea... A lo que el Playstation tiene la versión del soundtrack y pierde ese encanto cuando te retabas en los arcade, y por último el tema de jugabilidad en el mando de Saturn es más precisa comparando con el mando de Playstation... Peor aún con el Arcade Stick de Saturn que es una maravilla.

Entendo que a versão Neo Geo CD seja melhor em termos de jogabilidade e músicas, até mesmo animações, mas o loading quebra totalmente a jogatina. Slow read speed. Also the saturn uses those cartridges that are ram expansions, it probably loads more of the game in the first load, meanwhile the ps1 has to load everything every fight. Its a shame he didnt go in a 3v3 run to see the actual loading times.

I don't spot many big differences, but the Saturun does have one or two things improved over PSX. Thanks to the Saturn being a bit more focused on sprites than on PSX. However, the psx version looks a bit crisper on the edges.

This video doesn't do a good job this time with the visual. The saturn both looks and sound better than the ps1 along with the faster loading, extra animations and arcade difficulty. The controls on the saturn are also better than the ps1 and you don't need a code to use the bosses since you will unlock them after beating the game. The only good thing about the ps1 version is it has the remixed sound tracks but other than that it's a bad port like most of the neogeo games ported to the system.

People don't seem to notice this, but even with being grafically much closer to the Neo Geo thanks to the Saturn having more built in RAM + a RAM cartridge for this game, the Saturn still is far better simply because it actually gets the gameplay RIGHT. The PS1 version is just awful gameplay wise. It feels incredibly stiff, and the moves are either more difficult to pull of or simply don't pull off at all. Why people are saying the PS1 is even a decent version for the system? even the 96 port with his awful loading times is a much better port.

Well the fact it needs a RAM expansion pack doesn’t really make the Saturn impressive, I’m sure the PSone with a RAM cartridge wouldn’t be far off or most likely the same

Esse é o unico jogo da SNK aonde a versão do PS1 quase não perde em nada contra a de Saturn e do Neo Geo AES. Prefiro a versão do Saturn, melhores controles, melhor frame rate e tem todas as animações.

só vi diferença na carregação, tirando isso são idênticos, nem colocando um ao lado do outro dá pra perceber alguma diferença, sem contar q a versão do ps1 vc comprava no camelô por 10 conto e com qualidade boa, saturno tinha q ter esse cartucho aí, ps1 tb com músicas do neo geo cd, tem até música cantada, pessoal fica igual um delinquente olhando minuciosamente qualquer poeirinha pra dizer q a versão do saturno era muito melhor, pow quando a gente jogava street fighter do mega tinha uma diferença absurda para o arcade e ninguém ficava reclamando, aí por causa de uma poeirinha vem tentar desmerecer a versão do ps1, vai se lascar pra lá vagabundo, na época vc não tinha nem dinheiro pra ter um ps1, pagava pra jogar na locadora e mal tinha um mega drive com fio remendado, agora quer vir bancar o playboy!!!
