@@MrAvm4life I knew that comment was coming. I personally like the contrast between overweight Doug and tiny Carrie (Leah). Like how is this big guy, with this tiny little petite woman? That was a key part of the show. If she were bigger on a different show, maybe it'd be ok. She wasn't really fat, she was just thicker. But if you noticed, she seemed kinda sad during those seasons. I don't think she liked the negative comments about the weight.

cool User ... at the beginning it might have seemed that way. However, later in the show, Carrie gained a lot of weight and eventually was not the thin hot girl we see here. Marriage is not about good looks, it's about growing together. All couples have their ups and downs. Carrie and Doug had a good strong relationship despite how different they were and how they had to take care of Arthur. I find them very real.

They made Carrie’s character way too understanding .. something that we NEED to learn from and master so we could have easy going relationships with the people that mean so much to us and we cannot afford to lose! If I were Carrie in this fix I’d backfire at when he talked negatively about my old man! And where’d that lead to? Go figure! 🤦🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

If you know the series, you also know that Doug and Carrie take turns being irresponsible and selfish. We can't really say that she is the more reasonable person of them.

@@Armor3d0ne Doug is actually a lot more understanding to a fault. Arthur took full advantage of that in the episode where Carrie puts Doug in charge of looking after Arthur. Good old Arthur leaves Doug on the couch all drugged up and then "jumps ship"!!! Lol!!!!!
