Wow, times have changed since I was in the 1982 crew. Back then we would train before breakfast, at lunch, row after school, and do hill sprints at night over and over. Rowing camp in the holidays before school came back, we would conduct a lot of rowing...but we also got smashed psychically by none other than Rob 'Rolly' Roland-Smith, and I can not believe he is out there with the boys at Palm Beach running up and down those bloody sandhills today some 40 years later.

Being cautious re Covid was why we didn’t go. Probably a little over cautious in the end. Would have loved to take them.

It is the AAGPS Head of the River. First raced in 1893. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head_of_the_River_(New_South_Wales)#:~:text=The%20AAGPS%20Head%20of%20the,rowing%20season%20for%20senior%20crews.

Sick vid, not like the SHORE 7 seat fainted or anything
@francosquillace19083 жыл бұрын
his fault they won fair and square broski
@tomsmith50803 жыл бұрын
@@francosquillace1908 yea ofc they earnt that win fair, but I just think shore was probs the better crew overall
@edbill87443 жыл бұрын
that’s the risk with Shore’s strategy of going out so hard. if there is a similar crew which is mature enough, they will get rowed down. it’s happened the last 2 years so i wonder if they will change their strategy next year.
@tomsmith50803 жыл бұрын
@@edbill8744 yea your right and that is a risk in the strategy which is why it's not shores. The focus is in the middle K to grind it out. 7 seat fainted cos he rowed himself out, the rest were fine. Besides kings 1st 8 won 1 race all season and shore won all the rest. In the past 10 years shores only lost 3 HOTR's. The strategy is fine.
@edbill87443 жыл бұрын
are you saying shore would have won if their 7 seat didn’t stop rowing?
