I think that the song takes the direction the singer wants to give it when it's done with his whole soul. This is the case here and then your comment is purely formal, though quiet interesting.

I think he's on about the political preaching before the song. About Colonialism being something right wing and so on (Has she not heard of the Soviet Union, as just one example of Leftie colonialism?) Great song though.
