The Kirkstone Horseshoe // The Lake District

I've walked up Red Screes many times - and even camped there - but for some reason I've always done it from the top of the pass. For years I've driven over the pass longing to walk up to the summit via Middle Dodd and I finally got around to doing it. Tacking on St Raven's Edge and Caudale Moor to make this a fine 'horseshoe' walk.
Though the day wasn't ideal for photography it was certainly nourishing for the soul; being treated to much of the walk without another living creature anywhere near me. With the exception of the sheep of course!
Another highly recommended walk in the Lake District.

Distance: 9.2km / 5.7miles
Total ascent: 949m / 3114ft
Exertion: Moderate/Hard
Technical difficulty: Easy (some care needed on decent from Red Screes)
