Great to see what you are working on and to know that I am not alone in frogging a project that brings me no pleasure. 🇬🇧

I always look forward to your podcasts, so was very pleased to get a notification for your latest episode. It is always a pleasure to see what you are working on, and I was also very pleased to learn that I am not the only knitter who is not a fan of the Ranunculus. I don’t think that there can be many of us 😂. Thank you for including what you have been reading as well.

I recently discovered your podcast and enjoy it so much! Like chatting with a friend around the kitchen table. It’s lovely.

I agree on frogging something that you decided you’re not gonna wear while you’re knitting it. It’s been hard for me to do, but I finally decided that about five years ago and frogged a lot of things and now have stuff on my needles that for sure I’m going to wear. Lovely video thank you.!

Hello. New subscriber here. It’s always nice to know there are knitters out there with many projects on the go! The books sound good, so I’ll be checking those out as well. Happy crafting! Jennie in Vermont

Really enjoy your videos, would love to see your sewing makes too……I do a quite a bit of sewing and now knitting……what a rabbit hole that is! It can be overwhelming seeing peoples makes and wanting to copy them, but I’m learning to show some restraint and to remind myself of what suits my lifestyle, if that makes sense. 😊

I don’t knit sweaters, and have absolutely no interest in doing so, but I do enjoy your discussion of your knitting. Thank you for not having a long intro with annoying music. I appreciate your just getting into saying what you have to say. It’s like visiting a neighbor. I do knit socks, and yours are beautiful. I use Winwick Mum’s tutorial, too, and have made my fourth pair. Thank you for sharing your knitting life.

I have bought a sample at a knitting store as well, and it was cheaper than the yarn to knit it, I thought hot tip, now I would always look for samples in yarn stores😊

Try making the Ranunculus in a DK or worsted weight yarn instead but keep everything else the same (sweater size, needle size) and I think you will absolutely adore it. I feel like that’s the secret about this pattern, it’s shown in that open and lightweight yarn but everyone makes it in a heavier yarn. I love it at a worsted weight, I’ve made a sweater and a tee version that way, plus a DK tee version in cotton. Don’t give up on that pattern just yet! (Oh and don’t do the front short rows, that’s another secret :)

I agree, knit it in a larger weight yarn. I’d never consider the Ranunculus looking at the designer’s photos but I saw others knitting it in worsted weight yarn and now I’m on #8 & #9 since last October. It’s my go-to, therapeutic, relaxing, fill up my wardrobe with wooly warm sweaters knitting.

Ooh! I wish I’d known about the author event with Kate Mosse. I worked in that village until February this year when I retired. I’ve been dabbling with knitting but I do struggle. All year I’ve been promising myself I will make some socks but have no experience of dpns or magic loop. Similarly I have tried knitting a sweater but cannot get my head around German short rows. I know there are loads of tutorials on YT but I don’t have a lot of patience. Still, I love watching others creations and WIPs so Thank you! x

I've just found your podcast and hope to watch more. I'm with you on the Ranunculus. I managed one, but didn't enjoy the process. It's wearable but definitely not my favourite pullover. I think I was caught up in the enthusiasm but now that I've done one, I've moved on! 😀 RE: those Girl Friday socks -- I've the pattern in my library but have yet to try it. Don't think the heel would last five minutes with wearing! If I try them, I'll have to figure out how to do a proper heel flap and gusset. What do you think?

FYI Possums are definitely not a protected species in NZ! They were introduced from Australia and thrived in our more temperate climate and are definitely considered a pest here. They are protected in Australia. Possum wool is easily obtained from many outlets here and a quick google is all that is needed. 😊

I agree 100%, the narration of the audiobooks make or break it.

Suzanne possums are a pest in NZ and not protected. They decimate our flora and fauna. Wool with possum fur is very much available here. Possums are protected in Australia though. Think again about the Ranunculus. If you use a 5mm needle and use a DK weight you'll find you will like that. It would look lovely over a dress. You can do short or long sleeves. The Love Note is a similar pattern. Thanks for a lovely episode.

Love the Tesse as well as your color way “Wuthering Heights” for the vanilla sock. Was it the Heathcliff color way? Just a guess based on Brontë’s characters. Now a subscriber as I enjoy a genuine knitter, not just a “gain followers” poster. Cheers!

You might try knitting the Ranuculus on smaller needles in a bigger size.

You could add an I- cord edge with button loops, I have seen several cardigans with that finish recently on Ravelry.

Possum is protected in Australia not New Zealand. You can buy it from Wild Earth Yarns Christchurch NZ or Loopine Remuera Auckland NZ

The Ranunculus wasn't for me either. I just didn't suit the style or the fabric and frogged it for re-purposing.
