Queen Cupcake on her tree! It’s warm here in Cornwall too, very muggy and hard to sleep. 25 degrees is very warm for us, I can’t imagine 37! Hot weather gives me migraines too so that’s fun

Dear ones, please stay as cool as possible. The fans will help and all drink plenty of water. Put an ice cube or two in the cats' water. It makes a good treat in the heat. My cats really liked that cool treat water. It is funny to hear Roo-Roo complain to you about the weather. Be cool my friends. 🧊🧊🧊 Your temps and humidity are like Kansas = yucky. 💗💗

A little trick to help you and your cats keep cool, my cats apparently don’t like while I love it. Freeze a plastic bottle filled between half and three quarters full of water overnight, put it in an old, clean sock and hold it to your body. Have three or four of them ready so you can put one back in the freezer, without the sock, and get another one. I tried it on my cats and they didn’t like it, they ran away as soon as I set it next to them, but it may just be too shocking for them, like putting an ice cube down the back of someone’s shirt.

Get some cooling mats (they are usually advertised for dogs) and lay them around for the kits kats. My cats like one I got a while ago. It will help them to stay cool.edit: you may have to give them cool down baths if they start to pant.

Trying to keep my cats as cool as can be with this heat here in Massachusetts. Especially one cat who is prone to get sick with heat like this. It’s cause of his fur. Have the AC going to keep the house cool. Also have three gravity water dishes in the house. Two upstairs one in my room and one in my sister’s room. The third one in the kitchen and an extra bowl next to it.

You are hotter than us, but we are getting hot temps (with high humidity) on the East Coast here. Tomorrow is 31C with a feel like temp of 40C. We aren't used to it. 3 days in total will be very hot and humid, before it starts hitting more normal temperatures. I feel the problem with keeping the babies cool on these types of days.

Here where I am that’s totally normal weather during the summer. It actually showed up a bit late this year! Also, seems like you are in a heritage home (US: a home on the historic register). Could older insulation be making the heat accumulate in the house worse?

The house was built in 1912 but Sharon and her friends did a total tear down to the studs and built back up restoration in the early '90s so the insulation is relatively new.

@@DrNworbsKitsCats that is rough then, to be honest, I've had a bunch of cats that just disapeared without a trace... and there are no predators here (there are just dogs and cats around here) ... unless some humans have poisoned them ... it's mad as well... Now I have a little kitten, should I let her go out once she grows up? I'm not letting her go out for now because she is too tiny... I don't know until what point I'm going to keep her just in my house... she has got use to her litter box which is a good thing... I don't know... What's your opinion?

@@joaochanoca3317 It's totally up to you but even without major predators being factored in outdoor cats tend not to live as long as indoor cats because of diseases and such that they can pick up and it sounds like maybe it's not so safe in your area for outdoor cats probably because of humans, the top and worst predators if you ask me. You could try training your kitten on a leash and harness so that they only go outside with you, not every cat will do it but if you start them as a kitten you might have a better chance of them taking to it. Make sure to train them on the leash and harness indoors first so that when you get them outdoors they don't totally freak out, get out of the harness and run away. Catios, cat tunnels and cat condos are another solution but can be expensive.

🥵 I can’t live like this. I’m just north of Seattle currently. The past few days have shattered every record we’ve had in recorded history. At my place today it was 104°F. The projection for downtown Seattle was about 110° which is hotter than the hottest day ever in New York and/or Miami. This is not sustainable. My sister said one of the weather forecasters called it disrespectful. I have a few other adjectives that are not family friendly. Even my DIY solution of a big bowl of frozen gel packs in front of a fan is not helping. And it’s only June. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I'm 72 and when I was a child, there was no air conditioning. We only had fans. My mother would wet a cotton dish towel, wring it out and drape it over the front of the fan. It did help to cool the house off. Also close all your curtains, drapes,etc to keep the sun from heating up your house. If it cools down a bit at night, open your windows to cool the house over night. Be sure to close up the house and close curtains before sunrise. Maybe put dish towel in freezer for a little while before draping it over the fan. Hope this helps. Take care. Be safe. For your pets put ice cubes in a cake pan of water to let them play. It will help them cool off and stay hydrated. My kitties love to lick the ice and drink the cold water. Best wishes from Nebraska (USA).

These are the days I love air conditioning and so does my cat and 2 dogs. Btw, we have had several of these hot days in Ontario, Canada in June over the last 50 years of my life. This has nothing to do with global warming. The climate has always been changing. In fact, the world has only gotten warned by approximately 2 degrees in the last 200 years.

If you water at night, you won't lose about 50% of the water to evaporation, and the grass likes it better too. Love your fur kids. If I could I would have many, but my lease says 1, so that's what I have.
