Was 17 when the "Get The Knack" LP was relesed in '79. This song I was definetly able to relate with then, and now. LOL. Best of times.

What an unbelievably great drummer Pat was. Playing Bruce's parts with respect and adding his own flair.

The knack had a knack of putting sexual lyrics in there amazing catalog. They weren't afraid on being banned from the radio or venues.. I'm Glad I got the KNACK !!

Better than the record.. fantastic.. funny though, I had always thought at the end he said, "I think I love this girl".. Only took 35 years to get that right..

RIP Pat Torpey. He was a HOT drummer with the Knack and Mr. Big. In 1988 I saw the Knack at a small club in Long Beach, California. Pat was on drums....HE ROCKED. RIP Pat and Doug.

@@zebonaut100% man, Bruce Gary was an incredible (mostly forgotten these days) drummer. Get The Knack is a masterclass in pop/ rock songwriting, performance, and even recording…2024, I still love the sound of those drums. RIP Bruce, RIP Pat

As good as it gets...insanely underrated. The stuffed shirts from the record industry were intent on killing them after the 1st album cover they felt was disrespectful to the Beatles. BS. Same with the critics--they never gave them the credit they deserved. They made good music after the 1st album but they wouldn't give them a break. Broke music industry out of the disco era--great musicians.

Touch too fast? Just went from the studio version to this. Been a drummer for 55 years and I just can't believe you'd be that critical. Pat is basically spot on.

@@vinniesisser3126 I aint gonna lie. You are right. I can't even remember my state of mind when I wrote this but rewatching I must agree with you. This music is in my blood from early teenage years. I felt a disturbance, probably over the loss of Bruce. I did say the drummer is fine because I didn't want people to think I was attacking him. He doesnt need my approval lol. He is amazing and successful. Thanks Vinnie for the callout. Rather than even check to see if I could delete the post, I figured I would keep it real. P.S. Saw em at the Forum, met them at the Coach House :) My heroes for sure.
