If you could move Precious for Richards and get something for Sims without taking back salary that would be a perfect scenario. Imagine having a double big lineup of either Richards or Robinson to go along with Towns and always having a rim protector on the floor. That alone would improve our 3pt defense plus having a real iso scorer like Tj coming off the bench. We could actually rest the starters with vets that Thibs could trust.

Decent player no doubt. But let's not act like there aren't tons of upgrades. He is on and off and we rarely play him at his best position which is power forward. If his use here is going to continue to primarily be backup center, he has to go if we can find an upgrade.

People blame Thibs but go back and check the box scores for the past 10 to 20 games. The +/- for almost every player off the bench is TERRIBLE. So let's imagine you're the coach & you tell us: Are you going to play the bench long minutes and fall behind just to please knuckleheads on the internet? Or are you going to coach to win the game?

Man it's a nice vid, but I don't understand your assumption, at the beginning. Why do you say that Knicks bench isn't producing? Where is the evidence for this? If you research the stats, you'll notice that the Knicks bench is positive this year, and has a net rating in the top 10 in the whole league. And that's even more impressive given how little game time they get... like just jumping in for a few minutes (literally) and then out. And this is without Robinson, and often without McBride, so arguably their two best bench players, who are both supposed to return soon. I would say there is a much more important question: why doesn't the bench play more minutes? Why are the Knicks dead last in nba by a mile in bench minutes per game? What is Thibs coaching strategy regarding the bench? And, for that matter, why is he head coach of a real team, team that is a real contender, a team with possibly the best personnel in the league?

Adding TJ Warren would be ok but defensively you lose bcuz we all know TJ isn’t a defensive stopper but better than what we have off the bench but there’s more athletic wings out there that would be a better fit. Moses Brown is worth taking a chance with for rim protection.

To me Shermet and Payne don't have too much impact from the Bench.
