Please don't feel guilty about talking about your own designs! Knitting - especially garments - is a huge investment of time and money, and it's so helpful to be able to see a garment 'in the flesh' rather than as just a stationary picture on a screen - to see how it 'moves' etc as well as how it fits in a posed professional photo (useful though those are). And hearing the designer's thoughts about their intentions, yarn choices etc is also incredibly useful in planning a project. Podcasts like these are more like an extra (free!) part of the pattern purchase, rather than ads as such! And anyway - remember that you're not forcing anyone to watch your channel. It's not like you're popping up in the middle of other things to market your 'brand'! Carry on doing what you're doing - and be proud of your beautiful creative output!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!! The Eken pullover is just fabulous!! I will keep my eyes out for it! I’m Swedish too, and I’ve never heard Stockholm being called Eken, but a quick google says it’s right! Eken means the Oak, and apparently, it’s because oaks are so prevalent in and around Stockholm. I hope you have the best of honeymoons there! ❤

Thank you so much! :) Ah that's so interesting! It sounds a lot like the English word "oaken" so I'm guessing it's an Old Norse link there. We can't wait to visit! Thanks so much for watching xxx

Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding Sophie. I hope the weather is kind to you 🙏 After watching this episode I discovered that we have a lot in common. I also live in Hampshire on the other side of Petersfield, my Son is creative director for Jigsaw & I just ordered 7 balls of EK pure tweed in the same colour ready for when you release the Puno sweater pattern. Oh & I adore knitting too 😂 x

congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I absolutely love watching your videos while knitting and totally resonate with “stress knitting” or what I call my decompression knitting which helps me decompress all the stress haha the more overwhelming life feels the more I cast on 😅

Hey Sophie! I LOVE the Eken Sweater! Wish I had seen that test knit come up! But I will be getting the pattern for sure. Think it would look ok as a crew neck? Also love the Juno! Hope the wedding goes off well and all the best to you in your new journey as a married couple! ❤

Ah thanks so much Dora! I really appreciate it :) I think it'll be great as a crew neck! I've got time to knit another sample so I'll give it a go. I think that would actually be really practical. Thanks so much for the well wishes! :) xxx

Funny that I learn things about Sweden (as a swede) in a British podcast 😂 Had to Google if Stockholm was called Eken, and apparently it does! Due to its quite large amount of oak trees. "Den eken"="that oak tree"
@the_knit_purl_girl23 күн бұрын
It's such a good fun fact! It sounds a bit like "oaken" in spoken English so I assume that there's an Old Norse link there. Thanks for watching! :) xxx

I don’t think you need to worry about these videos being one big ad - when I click on these videos it’s because I want to hear about your recent work. The social media of any artist is the same. So I’m fully aware when I start watching what I’ll see. Also, even though what you’re speaking about is available to purchase, it’s very interesting to hear an artist speak about their process. So you’re offering much more than an ad would.

Love your patterns! My daughter is doing her masters and hopefully a PhD in history at Oxford. Hear it is quite difficulty to get funding - congratulations on that …. Or maybe not seeing you didn’t enjoy it. In any case, do you have any advice on getting funding?
@the_knit_purl_girl25 күн бұрын
Hi Elizabeth! Thank you, and well done to your daughter for getting into her course. I’m more than happy to talk about my experience with the PhD and getting funding over email but it’s probably a conversation better had over email. If you get in touch at the.knit.purl.girl2020@gmail.com, I’m more than happy to get into the details and would also be happy to share my funding application if I can find it xx

On the Juno sweater, will the fold around the base of the collar flatten with blocking? Love it!
@the_knit_purl_girl23 күн бұрын
I really hope it will! I've steam blocked it so far but my steamer isn't very good. If it still folds, I'm going to rib what I've done out and just use 1x1 rib like a "normal" hem, or consider a folded hem.

I love your “wedding” sweater. Please tell me this will be a pattern to purchase😊
@the_knit_purl_girl23 күн бұрын
Thank you! Yes it will :) I'll include instructions on how I made it "fancy", but will also make a more everyday option too. I'll try to get it ready for test knitting before the end of this year, but it might not be available for a while xxx

The off white tweed is actually the same yarn as donegal yarn kilcarra tweed (same code 4501 wildflower) and it is much more affordable if you get it in a cone from retailers who carry it.
@the_knit_purl_girl23 күн бұрын
Ah that's so helpful to know! Thanks so much for telling me, I'll look into this :) xxx
