This is a great summary of the three films, it came perfectly as we had just finished them, and was looking for some analysis. THANK YOU!

She is carrying the same flower which was in the Jeep in which Hosain and the director were sitting and talking about idea society. The flower here might be a representative of that acceptance from girl's side .

loved this analysis. the only thing i disagreed was that the sequel got boring at times. i was entranced 😅

'boring' is perhaps not a good choice of word but what I meant was that the film lacks economy! But yeah great film overall

This is an average misunderstanding and terrible recounting of the meanings behind this trilogy. Let’s investigate and re-watch them all. Shall we? The last one you call pretentious clearly denotes how little u got it

Not sure if you've found them yet, but Kanopy is a streaming service that is free to anyone who has a library card or is a university student or teacher! Kanopy has the whole Koker trilogy as well as other Kiarostami films and other international films

Vividly portrayed. You rightly captured the confluence of the three films providing a window to the Kiarostami's direction.

I have also found the first film more compelling, but I think And Life goes on is not boring - it has been designed as a documentary to record the devastating effect of 1990 earthquake. Though I found Through the oliver trees more sweeter and feel good among the three. But Hossain's attempt to get Tahereh's heart is somewhat creepy and doesn't appeal to this mood. Yeah, you are right that it can be due to cultural difference. But if we can see some improvement from the girl's it would have been more pleasing....Anyways, youu have done an amazing job, loved your work.❤️

I realise 'boring' is perhaps not a good choice of word but what I meant was that the film lacks economy. But yeah, like you rightly mentioned, it has been 'designed as a documentary'. Thanks for the comment mate 🙂

Great video! I just finished watching the entire trilogy, absolutely loved the first one however I'm still not sure about how I feel about the other two, at times it did kinda feel pretentious but at the same time it did also have some elements and themes that I really liked, the last one kinda felt like a ripoff of Truffaut's Day for Night, just me!?

Yet to see Day for Night!

What is amazing about this movie and what a lot of people don’t know is how many famous Americans actors were in this movie, like Tom Hanks, Harvey Keitel, Robert Duval, Kevin Costner and a few more whom are big fans of Kiarostami movies and his friends. They made Cameo appearance as extras on various scenes and kiarostami masterfully hide them in the background! If you watch it again closely you’ll be able to see them only if you are paying close attention to the background! One hint is village scene!

Impossible. Tom Hanks is so american that you couldn't even hide him behind a stone wall without a whiff of Hollywood wafting through the film.
