I was in my twenties during the Eighties and I listened to all kinds of music, here in America and in Europe as an exchange student. Always in record shops, always on the radio, always hanging with people who lived for music. And through all that time I never heard this song. Then about 2 years ago I was driving an old beat up pick-up truck that had the old analog radio receivers. And flipping aimlessly through stations, I heard this song for the first time: 42 years after it first played on the radio. And I cannot think of a song that more perfectly encapsulates my nostalgia for the past, my youth and my passion for music. It may be a tear jerker but it rings as true as any song I've ever known.
