Jets fan here. Very close game! Kraken have got a really solid group this year. Appreciate the non bias in agreeing with the reffing calls. First one was definitely the right call as it hit off his chest and the 2nd one was a textbook goalie interference call. If y’all play like that every game I’m sure you’ll make playoffs this year. GGS!

This was my first ever hockey game I’ve watched! I recently decided to get into hockey, and watched all of your 101 videos and ended up selecting the Kraken as my fandom! This game was exciting to watch and overall a great way to start watching hockey. Although being from Kansas these 9pm starts will be a struggle lol

as a Winnipegger in the same time zone as Kansas, i feel these late starts suck. consider switching to the jets? you'll probably lose sleep from stress, but home start times are a reasonable 7 maybe 730pm CST start time.

This team isn't built on a ONE line can score all your goals. They need at least 2 lines to score. If we can't get multiple lines to get at least 1 goal that's it. And i love the fact that Joey is so good at playing the pick. But dude You are a goaltender. TEND THE GOAL. Trapezoid is one thing. But unless it's a power play i HATE seeing him leave the net to play the puck it scares the crap out of me

I agree they aren't built to score with one line but when a line is as on it's game as that one was I think it's a good idea to get them more time. The way Eberle and McCann are playing so far it might actually be a true first line or close to it this season.

@@CheapSeatsSports we also can't put all the blame on cause Dunn is hurt. That truly sucks that he's hurt but Montour is doing ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING HE CAN but Ryker Evans needs to step it up.. He needs to start shooting the puck from the middle of the ice during Power Plays. Like Edzo always says if you do that one time whether you score or not it opens up the chance for one of the other plays. If the point man is no threat then the PK isn't gonna pay him any attention then it's essentially a 4v4

Bylsma said it would take 20 games for things to come together. They're already starting to, against some tough opponents too. I think in the next month the Kraken are going to become hot.

According to Moneypuck's 'Deserve to Win O meter', Seattle wins that game 57% of the time. That said, moneypuck has consistently under-rated the Jets. They consider the Jets to be the 15th best team in the league, despite having the best record. So, take those calculations with a grain of salt. Sure, Jets were lucky to win, but, if that puck woulda rolled an inch the other way, it's not like that puck wasn't gonna get batted in shortly after. Also, "Ex-Kraken' Appleton is also an Ex-Jet, picked up from the Jets before the Kraken got him in the expansion draft. Thank god we got him back!

I like the visuals money puck puts to their stats, but I have some issues with how they measure expected goals compared to others.

@@CheapSeatsSports After the Oilers got slaughtered 6-0 at home by the Jets, Moneypuck had the Oilers as a clear #1 most skilled team in the NHL, and they ranked the Jets something like 20th. I think their formula lacks granularity for what they consider 'high danger', and they emphasize Corsi a little higher than they should. The other day, I was looking at the raw data for teams and noticed they didn't even have the correct data in it, with team goals not matching actual goals, (for Minnesota, in a random spot check) they just choose not to count some goals for their calculations. Not just EN goals omitted, several goals were missing in their calculations, skewing the results.

So if you view the Teams link on MoneyPuck, it says the Kraken have 20 goals for 19 against. Yet, official stats are 28 GF 28 GA. How can this information be accurate when they can't even come close to the ACTUAL stats? Handpicking 'high danger' is a sure way to create bogus results.

Another Jets fan here. Kraken played better than I expected. Jets played worse. That game could have gone either way. I wouldn't say the goaltending interference call was not "borderline". That was a clear call. In OT, in contrast, I disagree with the tripping call. In general, IMHO, penalties in OT should be very clear. That call was not. Anyhow, great game!

I think the GI was borderline only because of how inconsistent that rule is called, even in a review. I agree it seemed clear, but we've all seen much more obvious GI calls get missed more than a few times.

the kraken opened the scoring so i dont think they were down 3-0 in the 3rd period. that said, the thing about the jets that impresses me the most is that in their 7 wins so far, they trailed their opponents at some point in 5 of those games. so they have had to win in all sorts of ways. not every game can u beat the oilers 6-0.

Jets fan - I won't comment on the game, mainly because I don't want to come off as condescending. If Seattle battles like that consistently, I can see a playoff spot this season.

The Jets have been the best team in the NHL so far so getting the closest to beating them is at least decent even if a win would've been nice. Plus it's the NHL so we basically got half a win anyway lol

Nope, the Jets held their own and beat the Kraken, "close" is only good in horseshoes and that is another type of game not related to Hockey. Go Jets Go!
