I was born in 1987 residing at Tamenglong District. My father was a chief and he was a Teacher in Khoupum, Naga people tried to find my dad to killed. And there one of his Rongmei friend saved him. I remembered about the 15 September 1993, I was 6 years old. When we reached 41 None, in September 15 1993, they killed our dog (blackie), it was my brother favorite dog and my brother cried so bad. Though I was a little, it was really heart breaking leaving my birth place, seeing burning houses, crying. We got nothing and one thing I believed God is there one day or someday will punish them.

Real Naga People of Nagaland are innocent and have nothing to do with this. In fact they live in great harmony with the minority kukis there. No problem at all. We all know this very clearly. Its Tangkhul led kuki genocide 1993-97 not -- Naga led kuki genocide. It gets confusing for a lot of people because NSCN(IM) Muivah is based in Dimapur. We all know very clearly in Manipur that it's the Muivah Tangkhul from Manipur who is doing all this. Muivah has even killed countless numbers of Real Naga leaders and patriots in Nagaland during the absence of Phizo Angami ( the father of Nagas) during the 1960s 70s, 80s...which have been lost in the ashes of history. My point is we really appreciate your sympathy and your kindness to the Kukis there in Nagaland. But I also would like to remind you that its not your fault. The real Nagas are innocent. I can feel the lost of life n suffering even in Nagaland during 90s war was going all over Nagaland don't know y as I was kid .. even I had to run away with my mom n dad along with one of my brother in 1994 from my village to tuensang town as our house were burn down when the war began..we suffer too much ,. escaping from jungle to jungle..but by God grace we finally made up to reach to tuensang with my elder brother's n sister's.,.can't explain the pain we have gone through...keep your prayer strong everything will be fine .,.God is great .

I was 15 yrs old when this ugly incident perpetrated by tangkhul led NSCN IM took place. The pain and agony experienced by the women and children still displays in my mind. They reach our village too from joupi via tamei and twilang area villages in sept,1993. All adult male except few absentee including minor boys were mercilessly chop off the head and push down the gorge.

A Naga here. I remember reading about this incident in some book years back when I was still in highschool. The issue of Naga political struggle and the Naga-Kuki issue are polarizing subjects. The arguments of both those who are for and against it make some sense in their own ways. How??? Let me explain...I understand the plight of the kukis. I can only imagine what it feels like to not have a place they can call home. After all we humans are by design, hardwired to yearn for the feeling of "belonging-ness" and of being excepted. My heart also bleeds when I hear of all those lives lost. Losing loved ones is never easy for any sensible human being. Pain and heartache does not discriminate. However, I can also relate with the sentiments of the other group. One thing to be remembered is that we are all tribals by nature, and hence we think like one. Despite being introduced to western education and other philosophical ideas, we are still consciously or unconsciously a thorough tribal on the Inside. Hence, any issue pertaining to matters of land generate such passion and sensation in tribal people. For any tribe to exist, land is fundamental. It is a vital part of any tribal culture. And We as tribals are subconsciously programmed to fight and even die for our lands. Even A Z Phizo, father of Naga political movement, convinced the tribes to unite and fight the enemy by claiming that India was after their lands. Land became the rallying cry for the tribes to take up arms. But this does not mean that I condone the cowardly actions of those thugs. Killing innocent civilians is never a justifiable action no matter how noble the cause. It's murder, plain and simple. Lives have been lost on both sides and the common people of both groups are the ones who ultimately pay the price. Both parties dislike each other with a passion. Whatever happened to civility, dialogue and mature conversations? To begin with, Both parties has to come to terms with a few fundamental facts. The first group has to except the fact that they are not the original inhabitants of the land. The courts might have given the land, but the original inhabitants were there prior to the ruling of court. They should give credit where credit's due and work towards amicably finding a solution. The second group needs to understand that the Kukis are here to stay. They are going nowhere. Where would they go to even if they could leave? Keeping in mind the above mentioned facts, the only rational and logical thing to do is to try and find a middle ground with compassion, care and no less amount of maturity. The nature of violence cyclic. It always comes around to bite us in the back. The wise would therefore steer clear from violence. In order for our communities to grow and evolve into a world class society, all of us needs to shed our tribal mentality. Tribalism has already caused enough hiccups in Nagaland. But all's not lost. If we try to tackle this cancer in our society with logic and rationality, I believe problems like this will naturally disappear. As for the Naga freedom struggle, the pertinent question should not be if nagaland deserves independence....but rather, if we Nagas can handle independence. Nation making, and becoming successful as a country is no small feat. It requires certain attributes which, in my opinion, Nagas as a whole, lack...I could be wrong though. Do we really deserve Independence??? Absolutely yes! Without a shred a doubt. But Do I really want it though? Truth be told, I am as confused as the next Naga millennial today and most adults even. What initially started as a noble and a just cause, gradually grew complacent and lost touch with the core fundamentals of the movement over time. Ideology is long dead, and so is the people's conviction. In a quest to find answers, I approached many people over the years...public leaders, intellects and even illiterates, who I thought possessed conventional wisdom. What I finally realized was that all of them were equally confused and and ignorant like me. I also realized that many young Nagas, especially the millennials, are totally ignorant about our history. Not a very good sign. Everyone simply pretends to know....when the truth is that no one does... there are no answers to be discovered over here in this realm. And even if the answers to all our doubts and quarries were placed before our eyes in this dimension, we'd still not understand a thing because the capacity of our little brains are by design, limited to process only three dimensional realities. The human mind cannot comprehend anything beyond this 3d reality. Perhaps, we may get the answers only when we die and move on to the spiritual dimension. B.d.w, Great movie making skills. It was clearly a very low budget movie. Yet didn't fail to impress. I liked it. This is a choreograph acting, but spontaneously very tearful. Count how many lives, fathers, mothers, siblings, uncle, aunts, nephew, nieces, friends are dead in this 1993 mindless cruelty endeavour of few masterminders. Think the dead are you and yours, you surely will not smile. The September Black Day (i think) is and should not be remember as a day of vengeful atrocities and land grabbing policy of some misguided Nagas over The Kukis, but a day of an atonement and awareness for the folly of the past, the disunity amongst us, a deep introspective insight of the past, for the present and future and the universal truth of circle of karma which will be inevitable.
