I was really expecting SOMEONE to talk about the girls draped all over the colorful scene! I thought it was an allusion to fairytale romances. The other girls ate the apples and died/fainted like Snow White. Jessi just ate it, spit it out, and was immune. Evil witches and princes to the rescue don't stand a chance. I think that specific scene, like some other scenes in the MV, mocks the damsel in distresses. Orrr maybe there's a more fitting word than "mock" but that's just me.

Yaaasss! I’ve followed Jessi around for a while now, and noticed how she gradually started appearing on more variety shows (particularly Running Man). I love her personality, and am glad that Korean people? fandom? media? tv? (not sure how to describe ) are starting to understand that she’s not being rude, she’s just direct. Can take the girl out of NY, but can’t take the NY out of the girl 😉. I feel like there was hesitation before, but people have gotten to know her and realized 1. She’s a nice person 2. She’s hilarious 3. Being direct is a good thing. I also think P Nation was a good move for her.

Tbh, I think what really jumpstarted her popularity was when she did Sister Slam Dunk with Tiffany from SNSD and the rest of the amazing cast. Tiffany being her long time friend and fellow Korean-American really shined a light on how Jessi was misinterpreted in S. Korean media. Not to mention Jessi finally got to show her real personality all throughout the show. I think since then, she's really been flourishing. So happy to see it and wish they'd do another season of Sister Slam Dunk with the original cast members.

This song is so different and epic as a fan view, I think it really represents what she wants people to know and to cheer people up in this current culture which always judges some groups of people in a certain way. A fan of Jessi since 2015. I am so happy about her success as a musician. Even though people know her more for pop songs now instead of her regular RnB and Rap. I do not care about the genre. Let the girl get her bag. Also, the song slaps. I only hope that when she does release the music she actually enjoys even though it is rap or RnB people listen. Her past two major releases, she has said are not her favourite songs or songs she has a strong personal opinion about, but she hopes people enjoy them. Glad they are hits.
