I find it funny that Ollie probably has the most knowledge of the pop culture references in this game of anyone in Hololive. You would think an American would.

@@TheAHuman The creator is also a weeabo though (in the positive sense), so it's mostly Japanese media being referenced, such as all the Mario, Final Fantasy, Kirby, Metal Gear Solid, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Dragonball and JoJo references. I would take a wild guess at it being around 70% Japanese things and 30% American, and technically Minecraft is "western" but not "american" as it started from a Swedish man and was only later taken over by an american company.

This is probably my second favourite playthrough of a Vtuber (after Pikamees). Not only did she have a blast playing from beginning to end, but she also got most of the references...and she was in love with Charles right from the get go.

She knows Japanese games, she's just also really young and assumes (correctly) that her audience would already know all of them, and therefore that there would be no reason to call them out like they were obscure.

Turn based games like the old FF and Zelda aren't too popular in Indonesia, many people there even mocks those who play games like that, add that with the facts not many people in Indonesia have handhelds since console games are more popular, it's not too surprising.
