I was bummed when they announced who would run the show, I've seen her shit and they weren't good. Here's to hoping we'll have a movie bases on the original cast and we'll ignore Canon minus Gigi cos she was the best thing about that show.

I was really bummed when Gen Q was cancelled because the third season really did have a lot of original series energy, that season one and two didn't necessarily. It's always so strange to me that shows often get cancelled when they're actually finding their groove. Tashas return made me tear up but if anything I wish it had gotten one more season to not end on such an awful note with Tess.

Sad to hear The L Word NY won't be happening. I would've loved to see it in a new setting. You're right that The L Word was really filling a gap in representation. It feels like we're at a point with TV where most shows will have 1 queer character in the cast, but not many shows with majority queer casts are getting made (and when they are they're soon cancelled). Personally, if I had to choose between the two, I would much rather an increase in capital Q Queer shows and for more other shows to just have entirely straight casts, especially as a lot of the time the sole queer character in an otherwise straight show feels like a bit of a token (underdeveloped, not well written, there just to fill a quota). Shows written specifically by and for queer audiences tend to offer much more nuanced & authentic representation that actually resonates with us, and I wish we could see more of it. I would especially love a sitcom with an all queer cast!
@courtney_paige896 ай бұрын
Nah. Forget "queer." I just want another lesbian show. Give the public a L and B women show with a G thrown in and leave out the rest of the alphabet acronym. Gen Q failed because of the inclusivity of the rest of the acronym. The public didn't tune in to see that, no one honestly wants to see that, and it was pushed on them. The reason TLW was so successful was because it was almost exclusively about women - lesbians - loving other lesbians. Either in friendship or romance. Alice was bi (Moira/Max was horrible), but otherwise, the show was so successful because it was about actual lesbians and not "no-labels" women or men who identify as women and are now calling themselves "lesbians."

I had a similar experience with cannabis, it calmed my anxiety and helped me fall asleep for a few years but suddenly it flipped, I got horrible panic attacks and got so paranoid. I have a theory that it's the high levels of THC because I took a few drags off of someone's joint a couple of years ago that was rolled with CBD only (no THC) buds and that was the first time in 15 years that I got a similar effect to what I used to get.

🤣Leisha with the drama and the table flipping. I could never smoke pot now, lol. I haven't since 23 (I'm 51.) I didn't like the way it made me feel anymore, so I gave it up. It was no longer fun, I would get paranoid and anxious. Pot is legal where I live, there's too many pot shops in a small area, and I think people do edibles before they leave the parking lot, they're almost hitting me when they pull out on to the highway. Doc's must've been different in the 90's, I didn't find them too stiff at all. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is just awesome! Kate, did you ever watch The New Adventures Of Old Christine?

Loved Hacks! I was lucky enough to see Jean Smart in the lesbian play Blue Fish Cove at the Fountain theater in L.A in 1982. I went with my very first girlfriend and we were blown away by Jean. I remember thinking that she was going to be a star. It was such a small and intimate theater and we just loved seeing a lesbian play. Awesome memory. 🎉 They say if you eat the same thing everyday, eventually you may become allergic to it. Perhaps that's the same with pot. For some people. Glad you found your chambray shirt Kate. Now I need to go look up what that is. I wonder if I can find something like that on Thredup. Fun show guys.

I didn't have much hope for The L Word NY because TV is so chaotic and unreliable these days, but it's good to know those articles are nonsense just for peace of mind. The unreliability of TV is sad because I think knowing what shows were on what night actually helped me feel stable as a kid with ADHD and an unstable parent. Sometimes I wonder if kids are drawn to certain online streamers because they stream on strict schedules and are always there for their audience.
