Continuing the #Alphabet tag! We’re up to the letter “L” now and calling Anglo-Saxon Scholars to help! (please help) Do you wanna hear about reciting the Spanish alphabet like a tragic love poem? Then this is the video for you! There’s also a corny discussion of all-the-world-needs-now with my confession of being twisted…
I filmed this one in early March, and I’m pretty sure this tag will take me a couple years to get all the way through. And that’s okay! It’s great to stop and reflect on different stories and characters and themes from time to time. This is a wonderful family of tags to see other booktubers’ responses to and consider my own responses to. Jim has compiled the letters into playlists at his channel, making it even easier to enjoy. Brilliant!

I enjoyed so much this video and found two points of connection with you. The first is very funny, I am Mexican and my natal tongue is spanish (I still live here in Mexico, although it is my dream to live there someday) and something that has helped me a lot to improve my english is to read the bible. I will admit that before I never had studied the bible in spanish, so now i feel that I understand better some faith stuff in english than in spanish. Sometimes i feel like you said, that something i read in english makes me understand better something i heard in spanish. The second one is you liking tragic love stories. As a young woman I used to eat and breath poetry and one in particular that´s my favourite is called "la tristeza del inca" of Jose Santos Chocano. Its so beautiful and so tragic. It tells about an Incan prince that looks for a beautiful woman to love him, but as he doesn't find her he resorts his energy to conquering and expanding his empire, seeing it doesn't give him any satisfaction he calls the high priest to find out why he is not pleased and the high priest tells him he will never find among his kingdom the love he desires because he has dreamed a white woman, and explain that in the future that race will overpower the region and bring another lenguaje, another god and another king. So when he reach the time he must take a wife he buries himself and dies dreaming of a woman with coral lips and blonde hair. I wish you can read it, maybe the translator will loose some of the beauty of it, but I think it's worth looking at. And totally agree, this world needs a lot of love.

I'm so glad you reached out! Thank you for watching the video and I will definitely look up "la tristeza de inca." That sounds perfect for my twisted sense of romance. If I can make my way through the Spanish version, that would be wonderful. Thank you for recommending it!
