This band has really engaged with the canon of rock and roll. I knew they were buddy holly fans before i was lucky enough to stumble across this performance. Its in their rawness and verve and their ability to sit in the pocket. Authentic Artists .

The Stone Roses were much better. More melodic, original, and more musical skill but The La's were certainly very good.

@@blakemcnamara9105I've seen the Stone Roses live - they were terrible. The roses were great on record, but as a live band The La's wipe the floor with them.

@@thegoodsgone1965That's probably true. There are only a few great Stone Roses live performances. 1989 at the Hacienda comes to mind as well as the TV special they did with Waterfall. I also saw them live in 2016 at MSG and that was maybe the best show I've ever been to. However, other clips of them live are not great.

@@conradrayner6317 He was simply stunning in The Icicle Works ! Check the drums in Hollow Horse, Starry Blue Eyed Wonder, Birds Fly & Evangeline which lists just 1 song from each of the 4 albums he played on. I have long followed his work, I think he is superb but the Icies drums were something else.

Lee is such an incredible singer. Like Eric Burdon in a sense. Band nailed this cover too. They did a great cover of jumping jf as well.

Intelligent band, Liverpudlians don’t play Beatles, but play song by singer songwriter Lennon and McCartney idolised and who influenced them. Buddy holly was fantastic, and the las easily live with them. Top band and John power really nice fella.
