After signing to Atlantic Records, Skyy launched a major comeback in 1989 with the release of their successful Start Of A Romance album. This release spun off two #1 R&B singles, with both the title track ("Start of a Romance") and the quiet storm classic, "Real Love" claiming the top spot. "Real Love" also became the group's second and final crossover pop hit peaking at #47 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1990. The second single released from the album (between the title track and "Real Love"), "Love All the Way" also cracked the R&B top 50. By the release of the Nearer to You album in 1992, the hits had again dried up, and the band has not released a new studio album since then.

My father took us to Germany while he was in the Army. We had two school buses. A rock bus and a soul bus. Every now and then one would be late or break down. This meant that we had to share a bus. We would almost fight to see who gave the driver their tape first. On one particular day in 1982 (l was a tenth grader) we won the battle. That was the first time that l heard 'Call me.' Man... that beat and those soulful voices were something to hear. Every time l hear that song l remember exactly where l was when l first heard it. Thanks for those fond memories ladies.

IMO the sexiest voice in R&B history. I had the pleasure of seeing Skyy and Kool and the Gang in Queens Village, NY at the Community Theatre in the late 80s or early 90s. Fantastic!!!

These sisters should be dubbed 'The First Ladies of R n B" because they have multiple hits, classics and they are still together and singing after 40 years in the business. On top of that, a lot of their songs and voices have been sampled in super hip hop and R n B hits! They can literally be like the Clarke Sisters of R n B! I hope a manager or somebody is watching and take this cue! Get that biopic going because I am sure they got stories!
