Since when does the government say you no longer have to pay property taxes when you reach x age? The show never said she couldn't afford to pay she said she refused to pay. Was she in there with a horse?

It's a bit unrealistic to expect her to pay taxes. She's a very old immigrant woman without a steady paying job. She's also a recluse, a hermit. And I'm sure she inherited that property from her late husband. So expecting her to cough up all the money when she has none......a bit unrealistic. They didn't have retirement funds and SSI back them.
