@@OfftheCuff_Series Not sure why the big influx of people in the last 10 years, there are really no jobs here except in the service industry which doesn't pay very well, and very seasonal, lot of the people are retirees who had weekend houses here moved from the city when they retired, most of the original local people who were farmers, ranchers etc. have sold their land and left. taxes in Camden county keep going up and up. 25 years ago my property tax for my house, shop and 45 acres was $415 a year now it's close to $1600 a year. still live on a gravel road, well water and a septic system, no services have changed in 25 years but a 400% tax increase ! i mean thanks for the free advertising but there is a whole local community here, three in fact distinct communities that are often at odds with the way some of the entities conduct themselves and their business here on the lake . . . the financial abuse the locals endure along with the crap attention and effort given to environmental impact and clean up is why our animals, lands and waterways are stressed and the bottom of the lake looks like a garbage dump in some areas . . . i spent most my year cleaning up after tools that can't tend their shit or contain their stupid while enduring rich assholes and their flock who think us locals are here to do as they bid with no respect for anything they encounter be it the people, places or things. so yes, come play . . have fun . . . spend money . . . just remember the ONLY rule in life you'll ever need "Be Nice, Play Fair, Have Fun . . .
