I think people should start accepting the inevitability of Jokic. I can't believe they still insist on trying to stop him individually. They practically wanted the sun to not rise and it's laughable to see them try so hard. And what's even funnier is that most teams including the Lakers still persist on building mainly offense oriented teams, compromising their cap space by getting max players and having way little left to afford getting elite 3 & D wings and perimeter defenders. I dont think you understand the "make Jokic a scorer" philosophy. The strategy is to make Jokic score and minimize his playmaking. Games where Jokic scored 40+ ended in losses last postseason. So you have to take the lesser of 2 evils. Honestly, the Lakers do well against Jokic (they were 2nd best at defending him during the 2023 run), but Jamal Murray is really who buried them. He averaged 32.5 ppg against the Lakers. I still believe the Nuggets sweep them though.

I think the only answer for Lakers is to put Lebron in the Rui spot and have AD double as the roamer. Lebron will put up more of a defense against Jokic and you hope the other guys don’t hit. The problem is Lebron will gas out on offense and you would have to rely more on on DLO, AD, and Reeves for the offense

Rui is fine in spurts, this video is pure exaggeration. Put Rui in rotation with Lebron and AD, don't put him too long until Jokic or any star can adjust, standard stuff. Jokic is not as good as a scorer than he is a playmaker, don't leave others let Jokic score as much as he can and then attack him in offense. He will depend on Murray again, but Murray will be hounded by Gabe on the other end. Gabe won't stop him, but he will slow him down again like any other fringe star, standard stuff. In order for Denver to win MPJ, KCP and Gordon should deliver because those two won't probably be as good as they were in this game as people think they are going to be.

Plus LA is big in general and can match Denver's size as the rotate. That's the catch 22 with Jokic. Anyone big enough to guard him can't slow him down enough to make up for how much it hurts your offense. Minnesota guards Denver better than anyone but they can't score well enough to actually beat them. Phoenix -- just no. They needed Booker to shoot 80% just to stay within 15. Denver tried to give Phoenix game 2 (7/27 on threes) and still won. Them winning two games is fool's gold. The Clippers -- I want to like them but Zubac just can't deal with Jokic even a little bit. Denver can get whatever they want. LA's only chance is to shoot the fights out and out score them If LeBron fully commits to HGH and can turn back the clock and play two-way basketball for 35 minutes LA still has the best chance of anyone out west because of AD. If Murray wasn't on fire that series easily goes 6 or 7

I'm sorry but Devin Booker shooting 20/25 for 47 points is not a strategy. It's a prayer CP getting injured in game 2 was a big reason WHY they were able to win. Their offense was a lot harder to guard without him. Transferring his possessions to Booker and KD was massively helpful to Phoenix. They were much more stagnant and easier for Denver to guard with CP. No one has a snowball's chance in hell but the Lakers were at least in every game with under 8 minutes to play. More than you can say about Phoenix, Minnesota or Miami It's 2024. Regular season wins and losses are irrelevant. The playoffs are completely different.

Jokic is a sneaky but dirty player. Early in the video you'll see him commit an offensive foul against Anthony Davis by pushing off on him. Obvious, but not called. Jokic did the same against Davis on the play where he took Davis to the basket which turned out to be the winning basket, instead of an offensive foul which would have been Jokic's 6th. I don't like to see anyone get hurt, but part of me would really like to see Jokic get really clocked by someone, or at least the refs pay more attention to his dirty play.

The nba is in its softest era, so if the refs themselves don't see Joker's physicality as a foul it only means that there's no dirty about it, have you seen his arm bleeding with scratches? That means opponents get physical with him and he's not getting any fouls. Anyone who plays basketball knows that Joker is not a dirty player. Start to learn playing ball and you will understand.

Dirty plays? I've watched virtually every Nuggets game for the last 5 years. This just isn't the case. He gets mauled on nearly every possession and has scratches to show it. There's no way a sane person can make the argument that more OFFENSIVE fouls need to be called than defensive fouls. You are likely a lakers fan that has been conditioned to thinking every time anyone touches your team on either side of the ball it's a foul.
