Foliage plants don't deserve this kind of attention and hype. Flowering plants do. It's a total fad by people who really were never really that much into plants and are getting fleeced out of their money because foliage plants take less skill to keep alive. You don't have to know what you are doing to flower them. Wish the fad would die already or at least transition to plants the deserve the attention.

Yep, I've been collecting plants for about 8yrs and I stay out of the "plant community" completely. Its full of know it all people, I can't stand it. The closest I come is having a plant IG but I don't do any captions or talk at all on there cause people have attacked me for weird things like getting a plant for a cheap price at a grocery store.

Mostly from other countries that sell them wholesale and probably cost lot more cheaper than whan they sell on their nursery. You can actually import it yourself from another country, it'll cost lot more cheaper, tho it'll be more complicated with phytosanitary, risk of it arrived in poor condition, process of acclimation, etc.
