They don’t know it’s there & therefore probably won’t fit into area’s they did before so when they “hit” anything solid, it most likely will take a chunk of their skin or worse when it comes off because you know they plan on it “staying” on as long as possible & like everything else done in the name of Science, humans and animals seem to be only collateral damage any longer.

Kite based wind generator would work. Not light fabric of course. The benefit is a conical kite would have a venturi effect accelerating the wind and increasing the energy produced. You'd just have to set up a suspension system to support it. When it's not windy, it just hangs vertically. You could run lines and lines of them all producing more power than a conventional wind farm. Would work. :)
@berryreading4809
@berryreading4809 Жыл бұрын
Sadly to produce enough heat via electricity that wind sail would have to be absolutely massive (and it wouldn't survive icing or snow buildup in winter) I'm assuming the turbines must have some sort of de-icing capabilities built in, but producing hydrogen may be a more realistic form of heat, and that's pretty outlandish and energy intensive, but could theoretically be done year round... Geothermal heat would only be a theoretical option in a couple of very limited Antarctic regions as far as I know, so realistically Antarctica I'd probably the last place on earth that will stop using Fossil Fuels (especially when considering dependability/reliability) Well maybe besides China... They'll still be burning coal unfiltered when the Antarctic is diesel free 🤦‍♂️ (I think nuclear is banned per updated on the treaty if I remember, although not until after the US had a couple of early incidents in Antarctica at the start of the atomic age 🙄 They were mostly concerned with saving diesel expenditures for longer expedition times, but the early compact reactor design was not the safest or most environmentally redundant... A story worth checking out if you like Antarctic history 👍
