In regards to the restroom restrictions, the distance is 500 feet from a vault toilet if not self contained. Thanks for the helpful information. Enjoy your time in Quartzsite.

Thank you for the correction. I will add the info to the details!

Glad it was of help!! I watched every video I could 2 years ago but never saw what the “spots” look like….then you get here and it’s pretty much “endless” I will say this year people showed up early Nov and the good spots facing the washes were already taken! We’lol see how the new fees affect attendance next year.

@ I see you spent some time near Ruidoso Nm last year. This is where I live and in the coming weeks going on the road full time and was eyeing up a few locations to get through the colder months. Knowing what I know now from your overview of Quartzite I may chose to deal with colder temps and seclusion rather than the crowds that congregate in southern AZ.

I'm aware of Quartzsite for winter LTVA living but where does people go when it gets hot, I can't find good LTVA places where it's under 80 f where I can stay long term.

It’s very few days above 80 from Nov-Feb

BLM offers free camping in Colorado, Idaho, California, Oregon, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Alaska and South Dakota. Then there are many US National Forests that also offer free 14 day camping where you can camp free year around as long as you follow the relocation and wait periods to return to a previous location. Thousands of Nomads follow the temperate zone that moves N and S as the Earth tilts on it's axis. It's not reall "free" when you consider the expenses to move and feed yourself etc. But it is pretty competitive to renting.

I have no idea how to dump a tote. I have never seen a video on it either. Any chance you could do one? Very informative video. Thanks for sharing.

On your aerial shots some camps have a stone permitter. Is there a size limit to a "claimed lot" or a minimum spacing distance observed between camp sites? What is the camp etiquette for respecting neighboring campsites? Thank you for describing the basics to newbies.

So it’s hard to answer. Technically you’re not allowed to disturb the desert by making rock formations or “property lines” but as you can see most do it anyway. Most of the spots with large laid out areas you saw are on the main drag and those people come setup in September but don’t come back until Dec/Jan. I prefer to be on the first large wash north of the main road (if you find the water/dump on google maps scan north to the first large wash you see) this area is much more spread out. We have neighbors on either side but no one infront (facing the wash) and no one behind us for 1/8 of a mile. Basic campground rules apply. 10pm - 6am quiet hours. Be aware of fire restrictions. I generally try to place my generator between my 2 vehicles to help direct sound away from my immediate neighbors. Most everyone out here is sociable or looking for community. There’s also a good handful of families with kids.

Check out the discount stores. Kenny's discount is open again and there's a dollar store in the back

They should compromise on the $600 fee. If you depart by April you get the balance difference refunded. If you remain past the date, no refund.

use to do the long term but this season is all boondocking thing and so far its better then paying to camp haveing people come off the highway over the berm letting their dogs crap all over the place the dump their black tanks and leave in the early am so im done paying for that, best part is i found a place on blm land that has flat land and no one around for the last 3 weeks, but gonna have to to dump and get water next week so gonna go to different spot and come back to this one a week before i head back north
@BoondockingAdventuresАй бұрын
I totally understand. Already an inordinate amount of dogs have “gone missing” this year already.
