On May 25, 2024, thousands of Catholics gathered in a packed Cathedral of Saint Paul to attend the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis priestly ordination. 13 seminarians were ordained as Priests of Jesus Christ - the most in 19 years.

I love the Fraternity, but in the Archdiocese's defense, the Fraternity pulls people from all over the country. At the same time, the Archdiocese only has access to men in 12 counties of Minnesota. It's not really a fair comparison.

/ My personal experience as newly minted Catholic over 1 year ago -- heard too many horror stories from former Catholics in my local area where bankruptcies are pending also when i was on the Camino Santiago 500 miles France- Spain 😢 very frightening and despicable - the formation is not rock solid in God Consciousness - I come from a very strict monastic teaching background in Indian philosophy what I have to encounter in priests in general let alone the scandalous behaviors that have happened and damaged a ton of young people as well as others but it appears that it is part of the Catholic culture legacy and patriarchy. Personally speaking I'm deeply chagrined and mortified😢🥵./

The formation is extremely shallow I'm afraid in what's passing for Holy and sacred does not have the depth or the breath it's a lot of Pomp and Circumstance and fancy vestments but the real God Consciousness is sorely lacking I'm sorry that I have to speak my truth as a newly confirmed Catholic coming from a very strict Indian monastic tradition South Asian philosophy of thousands of years what i am encountering as monasticism in Catholicism is shallow and hypocritical and highly wordly I'm so sorry to say but this is my experience and I'm deeply distressed and saddened by it all😿 I am 66 years of age steeped in a lot of spiritual and Old World religious traditions that are quite strict in terms of morality bringing myself down to this level of patriarchal feudalistic way of religion -- too many cultish and depraved behaviors among the leadership. 😢
