I love the terraced layout. What an impressive sight, and thought-provoking: With tourists gathering like this there must also have baan a lot of noise. It sounds like a place for party and not for relaxation.

@@DariusArya I hope to have a car again to make a longer journey by car to Italy in 2025 or 2026. Then hopefully the "Il Plástico" model in Rome will be re-opened too. I just watched your video on it. I love such models. It would be great to see in in connection with a visit to the Forma Urbis.

I prowled around during the early 1960s when stationed at the NATQ HQ in Bagnoil, a Naples suburb. Looks considerably better these days. I lived in the Gaiola neighborhood, Posillipo Quarter of Naples. Since my time the Villa of Vedius Pollio, in the Gaiola, has been excavated and would make an interesting video.

I, too, prowled around the area during my two years tour in Naples (1983 -85). The excavations look much better now. Back then, the area was overgrown with vegetation, and just a trail to walk around. I remember walking into the Temple of Mercury and thinking, "Wow, why is this not better preserved". Somewhere i have a wonderful picture from back then of the inside.

That's some beautiful remains of floor mosaic with some timeless images (4:51) and the still-standing dome is incredible (11:00). I'm putting Baiæ on my bucket list… for after people wake up and when the worldwide-coordinated medical coercion ends. Great video!

People, even educated well versed & travelled people, persist in referring to the “Mediterranean” when in fact it is the Tyrrhenian Sea, not the Med at all. Please, please be accurate! The Med is further south, under Sicily.

Wait, the sea has receded? Wait, what? Global warming and sea ice melting, and climate warming and too much co2, and too much methane. Greenland is melting, water is encroaching on all shores. I so confused. I’m gonna pray to Diana.
@ManuelMercado-g3h Жыл бұрын
Yes, the waters of the bay have receded due to seismic activity in the area. Remember, the whole area sits above the Sulfatara Caldera.
