Fun fact: Katara pronounces his name “Gee-aht-su” in the original movie, while Aang says “Gee-aht-so.” They weren’t even consistent with it in the original. 😆

@@melusviclobo8969 I know the scene you're talking about. That happens way later. But she does say "Ayng" in that scene, at least in my version. To clear up any confusion, all these videos are clips to a fan edit I am making of the Airbender movie; and one big change being made is all the names are pronounced correctly. So, in the original movie, she does say "Ong." But in this fan edit, she says "Ayng."

So, the reason I removed that line was because Aang had already told Katara earlier that Monk Gyatso is “the teacher responsible for me. He’s kinda like my father.” So, I found it odd for her to then ask minutes later, “your friends were monks,” when he just told her he was raised by one. What’s more, cutting out that line of dialogue didn’t change what she was realizing in that moment: that Aang was in that ice for over 100 years. I do, however, like the delivery of that line in the original film.

In this second part of the chapter, I really liked it because it also has many improvements, but I also have some criticisms. I would have liked better to see Katarra and Sokka's grandmother interacting with them and fix the dialogue that is coming to an end, along with some dialogues that also They were shown in the movie. For example, Katarra narrated how Aang managed to almost drown in the ocean and create that ice ball and it would have been better to put it in this part instead of in the other chapter. Another aspect that would have been better to add was a clip. seen in a trailer where katarra was seen trying to calm down aang by saying the phrase: we can do this together. another seripose a dialogue where katarra asks who is gyatso.

I actually never end up using Katara's "ice ball" exposition in any of the chapters. I had removed it mainly because Aang already explains the story in the previous part in a much shorter format. Katara's version just reiterates it in specific details. As for the grandma scene, that has been officially been added back in, and has been heavily reworked. I'll see if I can get a rough draft of it posted for viewing. And finally, about that Katara scene, I know exactly what you're referring to, and am glad you are aware that exists! I managed to find most of that scene a few months ago, and am going to see if it can be incorporated in the final version in some way! I'm not aware, though, of Katara asking "Who's Gyatso?" But if you know where that footage is, I'm all ears!

It's actually ghost sound effects I found online. I was trying to imply that the objects Iroh pulls out have spiritual effects because one of the unanswered questions of the movie was why were these objects reacting strangely to Aang. Like, why was the rock moving weirdly but no other rock does it in the film. So, by making them spiritual objects, it answers that question.

A good question I've been asked a lot. Primarily, it's because I'm one of the few who likes the abysmal movie, and the more I watched it, the more I began to piece together a better version of the movie in my head that I felt was worth editing for the fans. And I knew no one else out there would probably want to suffer 200+ hours trying to fix it. I actually almost abandoned the edit a few years ago until I suddenly got a bunch of comments from Airbender fans saying they liked it and wanted to see more. So, that feedback kept me going. I would give this edit a chance and see what you think. It definitely doesn't fix every problem, but it fixes enough things to where I can say its existence is justified. The full rough draft is available for viewing if you're interested. :)
