I never owned a 2019 intel MacBook but I have been hearing reviews saying it gets too hot and it's not great battery life yadda yadda, but I personally don't really care since I want to collect one anyways.

Yeah, I know that the Apple Silicon Macs are fast, long-lasting, and very cool (pun intended), but there’s a certain charm to the Intel Macs that are not available on the new Apple Silicon Macs which is being able to dual-boot multiple operating systems without the hassle of buying another laptop.

You can buy a maxed out 16" MBP with an i9-9980HK, 5600M, 64GB of RAM and 8TB of Storage for just $1800 now. It's an incredible deal. Especially when you pair it with an eGPU like the Razer Core X, and an RX 6900 XT running Windows in Bootcamp.

I have the 5600M model I purchased some years ago and with amd fsr3 mod cyberpunk runs pretty nicely at 1920x1080 ultra . I suggest go into the power settings in windows and aet the cpu to 99% on battery and power supply. It will help with thermals and keep the gpu cool enough to keep fps high. Also I suggest you perform the VRM mod which requires opening the MacBook and adding some thermal pads on the VRMs. It did wonders for me .

This machine can and should last you a very very long time. I have the M1 for the battery life, but I have only ever needed that battery life a couple of times for the 3 years that I've had it. Anyone that has the computer that you show in your video should not feel they have to upgraded it for another 5 or 6 years imho.

I was actually wondering if I should go with the MBP 16 with Intel, or the MBP16 with M1 Pro. And this video came up, it really is convenient that you can dualboot them to Windows natively, and that is the main consideration for me. But I'm not sure for how long apple will support the mac for, since I'm planning to also use it later for college and I wouldn't want to miss out on software support by then. (I'm also not sure if I'll get a unit free of the gpu problems you mentioned) So i think I'm going to go with the M1 Pro, still thank you for the video, it is very helpful.

You can find machines like these for around 600-800 bucks used. The limiting factor is, as always, corperate greed with apple restricting the intel macs more and more and slowing the system down. However if you ditch mac os, you'll get a very powerful linux workstation. Imo if you aren't dependant on proprietary software, linux is the way to go for older macs

I honestly don't know if Apple is going to win me over to their Arm chips, for the price of a M1 Macbook Air, I can buy a much better spec Intel Macbook Pro and I can run Linux on it, Linux on the m1 isn't great, and I don't think Steam/proton works on anything but x86. While, yes, the M1 Macs are far cheaper and a bit more powerful than this giant honkin machine, Intel Macs can have the ability to run Windows and Linux natively, like I mentioned at the end of the video. No emulation or virtualization necessary. People who use an Intel Mac have some use cases where they need an Intel Mac to run macOS and maybe Windows for other purposes on the same computer instead of buying another workstation-grade Windows laptop/computer.
@Ssin12355 ай бұрын
@@dandee008 The thing is that, even emulation on M1 will give you better experience than native windows on 2019 Macbook. And I'm not even joking, was expecting mediocore experience when upgraded to M1. But it actually run smoother, quieter and longer than 2019 one, games run better when unplgged. Plus I don't even need to switch OS when I have that need.
