Gosh, the skyline is just so beautiful this season. every direction has some eye candy off in the distance, Tangos/snails blimp, Bdubs forest, Gems rebuilt castle, joel’s City, Scars redwood forest and now a flying caboose. These styles are so fun, colorful, and really picturesque. every corner of screen just has something beautiful in the distance. this season feels so built out vertically this year. and with everyone close together makes it all the better,

For me visually the big nether portal in The Neighborhood has been iconic (edit: although that word feels applicable to a kinda-infinite number of builds), and recently I saw an episode of someone's, I think it might have been Grian, and/or False?, where they flew through there (and in the case of False of course just spent a lot of time there) and the *density* of that whole area is ridiculous (ly satisfying).

@@Biro_the_Ukrainian I'm not even sure it's a joke, they did this to stop people from farming mass amounts of wither skulls if you bring a charged creeper to a wither skeleton farm. Like, what? At that point just let them have it, they've already built the farm, charged a creeper, and transported it all the way through the nether. That change did nothing but make getting mob heads worse.

@@karalyzel3177 tbf, wither skeleton farms are all ready pretty much all you would need, and charged creepers arnt that hard to get, (prob 20ish per thunder storm) if you got a hundred or so skeletons into one area, you could get thousands of skulls. I think the caboose actually compliments Mumbo's starter base really well! The hugely impractical home that he has to die to get into uses the same block palate as the body of the caboose.

Scar, instead of blocking the train from Mumbo’s base, you could add something to indicate that the caboose is delivering something to one of the shops on Mumbo’s base. I think it would be cool to connect the bases in some way rather than try to seperate them.

I agree in large part with that last bit but it's kind of a pure idea that contradicts Scar's valid concerns. I love the idea of both a tree-blocking AND a blending in some other way, but your idea would also be great, assuming it agrees with Mumbo's vision for his own area, which might be very likely if not certain.

18:30 Scar, those are horses, do you remember the last time you tried to put a horse in a boat? Luckily skeleton horse trap skeleton riders will not despawn so it is a matter of luring them to a horse hole or a horse pen. Do keep in mind like a player it is possible for the skeletons to suffocate if they go into a block while riding the skeleton horse. For a way to have a horse in a boat it needs to be a foal or baby horse and then once it grows up and something breaks the boat it will **never** go back into that boat

I think a caboose being held aloft by balloons is the most perfect, whimsical house for you this season, Scar! You have a natural Fey/Fae like whimsy about you and it just fits you soooo well! I'm hard pressed to believe Mumbo will be upset by it. Truthfully, it makes perfect sense from a settings standpoint. Mumbo's base is a sleepy little town with strange happenings all it's own. One next to an old train station. Next thing you know, a fantastical train with a most curious conductor rolls in and sets up shop. The jarring contrast is something that should actually be expected! Especially if you want to canon that the portal was there first, then that area became a national park which brought the train tracks and station, then it fell into disused and forgetting its original use, Mumbo's small town formed, but the portal always added an unnerving element to the area. Then one day, a train appears on long disused tracks and unceremoniously sets up at the former national park. It would be all kinds of odd!

@@j3llymarigolds I've Semi got a adapting headcanon for the magic mountain area. Skizz's pyramid, Scar's portal, the kraken at the bottom of the river, the skull, these things were there first. The area is naturally magic rich, likely due to the hole in bedrock at the center of the 'currently' dormant volcano. Then things started happening. Gem's castles, cubs skulk and crystals, and the national park. Then something happened, maybe industrialisation, and Impy's city formed and fell. In the wake of the cyber apocalypse, people looked for alternative fuel sources. Solarpunk(Pearl,) Steampunk(Tango,), old fashioned homesteading,(Etho,) Arcanopunk(Cub.) Then there were the settlements not affected by the cyber disaster. Mumbo's backwater town, Gem's hidden tropical village, Joel's Beverly Hills for the rich. These things either survived or were already thriving, but the whoooole area around the mountain is magic rich so even these places are affected. And then here comes Scar! I'd honestly like to see Scar put another portal in his train tunnel, maybe not a nether portal but a unique one he creates. If he did that, he wouldn't have to worry about running a train tunnel through the mountain. But Scar, in his pursuit of magnificent creatures and a place to keep them, would naturally find an abandoned natural park, with easy train access, in a magic rich location the perfect place to build his zoo! And it might also make sense for the backwater town and fishing village to be unnerved by this new comer! Especially, if some of the residents are survivors of the cyber city disaster. The fishing village, however, naturally has a closer connection to nature what with them worshipping the sea so they were more welcoming to the strange conductor and his fanciful train! Thus did they make a nice path to the zoo so they could visit it!

Love the train, your idea of adding a tree on Mumbo’s side is great. A couple things I would suggest. The balloons are flowing towards the train but the weather is pulling it that way already. So maybe move the ballon strings toward the front of the car a bit more to give the illusion of movement. Next I would recommend adding 3 trees (lots of work though) one in front of the caboose, one nearish to mumbo’s factory, and a medium one by the river between your bases. This will allow the transition to flow smoothly while giving mumbo the opportunity to blend it into his base as well. Love your creative vision. Keep up the great work.

The tether connecting the caboose to the train would be taught and under tension. The balloons would also read better with more "windswept" motion to them. Still a million times better than anything I could do.

I believe charged creepers only drop 1 head when exploding, regardless of the amount of mobs that die of the explsosion. In Bedrock Edition, there drops one head per mob killed.

When it comes to Hermitcraft, theres always the question of who the best builder is. Bdubs or Scar. And my thoughts are That they are both master builders. But Scar leans more whimsical and Bdubs leans more realistic. (At least this season.) Anyways, wonderful build as always! ❤

I love the Up caboose!! But the physics is a lil whack and it’s breaking the immersion. There needs to be a LOT more balloons (you may recall, in Up the balloons were maybe 20 times the size of the house). Also, the balloons are sitting towards the front of the caboose where they really should be in the caboose’s center of gravity (middle-back) to prevent the caboose from tipping.

Depending on where the big flying cart came from (I'm picturing it always staying up in the air, so it went above the mountain instead of inside the tunnel), you could do some terraforming on the mountain close to the flying cart, as if it rammed through the dirt and took some trees with it while the train was crossing the mountain (maybe even attach some cherry trees or put some dirt at the bottom falling down the cart to the tracks below, to really tell a story)

this is absolutely amazing scar UGH you always have such bright and colorful ideas that come to life so naturally! i have a suggestion for the balloons, which is since the car is being pulled towards the train, the balloons could maybe look like theyre moving in the other direction. right now the tethers are kinda going in the same direction as the car, which wouldn't be the case. not that any of this is hyperrealistic, and im sure you wanna be done with it

Maybe the tree wasn’t struck by lightning. Maybe (once they turn the mountain into a volcano) it was hit by some lava/embers and caught fire! Just a little idea for lore since I think the tree doesn’t really need to be struck by lightning. It would seem kind of out of place with the whimsical vibe.

As an idea for the spyscope, you are build a big one, you can pick a long range MOB target such as a creeper that looks very small from distance and build a large spyscope, trap another creeper in it, so when someone looks through it at the long distance creeper they will see the closed in one. Might be giggle worthy :D

Add a movement to the balloons! Make it a bit tilted to the opposite direction of the train movement. Add some glass paint at the back of the floating train to give a drifting effect :D

scar, every single time you reveal your builds, i genuinely cant help but gasp and marvel at them. when the balloons dropped, i was absolutely awestruck, it looks INCREDIBLE as always. all the hanging sings from the tether & the lights hanging from the caboose & all the hanging plants… this episode also felt so nostalgic for me, bc i was really expecting to see the back of the car similar to the up house from the S6 buildoff, and the charged creepers reminded me of S8… this was just such a delightful episode to watch this morning i can never put into words how happy your videos always make me to see !!! also, the kitties in the factor ad made my heart MELT… i hope katy bee & mr finnegan are doing well, im so happy to see them everytime you show them!! P.S., i think putting an easel on the caboose would be AMAZING, especially with all the sneak peeks we’ve seen on stream of what’s to come ;D

I love how cute and eclectic it is- but part of me thinks it would be cool if impulse and/orJoel put a little cyber looking thing that had a sign that said “protective forcefield, status : needs repair”. It would explain the bangs but also how it’s managed to say intact after thousands of miles and connect you some more to the other side of the mountain

Bet you can't get an Ender Dragon, Wither, or Warden for your zoo. Seriously though, I think you should negotiate for the Ender Dragon Egg for the zoo and don't skimp on the armadillos! I like armadillos. Wish they where more useful though.

A warden wouldnt be *too bad* to get, depending on how far away the next city is. The constant darkness effect would be very annoying though. Wither and Enderdragon you would need Doc for. The Wither can be kept in a wither cage. The Enderdragon can be transported into the overworld but considering how much trouble Doc had to keep it in place last season, i dont think thats really worth it.

I mean, I knew a Warden (and apparently Ender Dragon) would be impracticable. Just thought it would be fun to start with the borderline if not outright impossible mobs before I made any real suggestions.

@@SuperSwordman1 Doc actually brought 2 Enderdragons out of the End last season (? The one where he build the perimeter) and used one of them as decoration over his base. I have forgotten how he did it, he basically broke its AI. For a wither, there a ways to trap them savely, again Doc last season in his perimeter did so.

Hey Scar, love the build by the way! If the new cart is interfering with Mumbo’s base, maybe you could lower it a bit and bring it closer to the tunnel. That way, it’ll look like it just came out of the tunnel. Just a thought!

I am absolutely in love with the caboose! It has a whimsical, child-like energy that adds an extra air of magic and wonder to the train. It would be really cool if you had an easel on that outer deck with a painting of the view from the caboose. Maybe even have it at sunrise or sunset to give the idea that it's being worked on before or after a hard day of work at the zoo!
