Finally! Thank Hades! I've loaded this multiple times since March 30th, but it kept getting flagged and I couldn't figure out why. I had to wait for the appeal to be approved as I know the band encourages enthusiasts to record & share shows.
This second show in Brooklyn went a little better for me than the previous night's show in Manhattan. No security hold ups; they let us right on in! I was feeling a little less somber (or at least faking it) and must have looked it. Because of what happened last night at Webster Hall, I walked up to security thinking they would want to search me again and I wanted to get it over with quickly. Nope, they just gave me the wave to keep going! I stood there slightly confused and asked him if he was sure. Now he looked confused as he told me I was good and hurriedly waved me along. Nice! Now, we were able to get a spot at the barrier directly in front of Aurora's keyboard and more importantly, her monitor, which helped greatly with getting decent audio this time.
I struggled again with the video though. This venue has a similar lighting set up as WH. They're owned/ran by the same company, so I guess that's why. Like last night, I was just too damn stubborn about trying to get the entire stage in the shot and it wasn't working. Too many photographers also! Constantly standing directly in front of me blocking the view and the audio from the monitor. Like last night, I was trying to hold my camera as low & close to below my chin to keep from blocking other's views. I know I screwed that up a few times trying to get around the photogs and to those I may have blocked I'm very sorry! If I get another chance to see & film from a similar spot, I'll be doing more close ups. Last night, I couldn't get Aurora* in the frame and tonight, I struggled to get satisfying footage of Lizzie or Georgia since they were at the opposite end of where we were standing. I really screwed up not continuing to film last night! I was in a decent enough spot at Webster Hall to get some good video if I would've continued filming and zoomed in more. Next time will be better!
Even though I was able to muster a little energy and feel a small amount of enjoyment, I was still wandering in & out of a state of doom & gloom from Monday. Each night's memories are adrift in the fog. I was there, but I certainly was not there, there. Even while watching the recordings of both shows, it's not much different than when I watch recordings of full shows that I didn't attend; I feel a disconnection or detachment and I have that "I would have loved to have been there!" feeling. Their next US tour cannot come quick enough. Hopefully there will be more east coast dates than this 2nd time around and that I'll have the good fortune of being able to attend multiple shows again.
~btw, while standing on line before the show, Abi and then a few moments later, Emily, came out from the club and walked directly in front of us to their bus. Em's Insta says "Tiny blonde girl shredding since ‘07". That is correct! She does SHRED and truly is quite petite. Once again, just like in DC & Philly last year, I would've killed to have a quick chat and get a pic, but, in true East Coast Style, we didn't disturb either one; everyone just let them walk to the bus to get ready for the show. But it wasn't easy!
*Aurora was using her Keytar(!) more for both shows and I LOVE IT!!
