As i am getting older nothing in music exites me these days. Then out of nowhere this band turns up. Its only every 2 or 3 years I hear an album that you can live inside for months.
@pushthetempo25 ай бұрын
I feel that. Its a cliche but I feel the indie/pop music today is really not good, compared with the heyday of the 2000s. There were hoards of great bands. But yeah last dinner party sound original and exciting. Only other artist who I've been excited by recently is Christine and the Queens.
@niallq8447Ай бұрын
It is original and great. More like Florence but better.

I absolutely ADORE this band!! I have not been this excited for a new act since I was a teenager! They have defied every expectation I would have for pop music in a Gen Z world - they are bringing back the raw, pure, rebellious nature of yesteryear, fusing it with melodic charm, quintessential English eccentricity and old school nostalgia and yet it is exceptionally ORIGINAL and completely it's own thing! I'm excited for the album 💕

Love the prose. I am close to 60 and these guys along with English Teacher have really caught my attention recently. Charismatic singers both, great music and great live if these Jools clips are anything to go by.

I feel that I have been waiting 20 odd years for a band to grab me like I was by the likes of the artic monkeys, libertines and elastica as a teenager. I thought it was just me getting old and jaded.

Honestly, same. Many acts haven't captured my attention beyond a song or two. But when they opened for Florence I had to give them a shot and I only hope they continue to do what they're doing.

stunning.speaking as a huge fan, some what distraught by Bristol cancellation, I thought their version of 'nothing matters' for Jools was too restrained, and over polite -but MLOM made up for that -really letting rip. Love Abi's strut & writhe almost as much as her flounce & bounce.

When this aired I remember distinctly thinking the chorus had a real Arctic Monkeys vibe (along the lines of Arabella or She Looks Like Fun), and that the singer felt a bit like a female Alex Turner (albeit more physically expressive aha) what with the suit and everything. Then a couple of weeks later I finally watch Justin Hawkins’ video on them and find out this and their debut (and the whole rest of the record I presume) was produced by James Ford, the Monkeys’ producer since their second record. It all makes sense now! Great, great band who would be amazing support for AM whenever they get round to touring again. Thanks to Jools and the team for enabling yet another magic moment. What a legendary show
