WOW excellent presentation, as a Brit I was lucky enough to visit Lincoln in July 2023, standing at the window where Billy stood was a bit of a special moment in a Two week visit to various locations. I was surprised at the time of how few people there were around plus that from memory it was only on Thursday that the Courthouse etc were open. Again great job on presenting the story Best regards

I've been to Lincoln four times. The first in 1974. I also visited the BTK museum in the town of Fort Sumner. I visited the Kid's grave in the old Fort Sumner cemetery. The stone headstone and concrete tops of the three graves were there. I don't think the metal fense was around the grave yet, but it has been a long time. I also visited the Old Court House that Billy escaped from and killed Bell and Olinger. It has been half a century since I first visited Lincoln and not much has changed. The last time I was there was in 2010. In 1997 my wife and I got a room in the Patron B&B, which is no longer in business, but that was a truly wonderful experience. Billy had carved his initials in the wooden door jam. Also the Patron adobe house was not much changed since Billy's day. The hosts explained to us how to work the windows in an adobe building and while no AC it was cool as can be! Billy had actually be housed in the room next to ours when he was awaiting his pardon that never came. Another guest was a movie maker who had put together a documentary about Billy and we had wonderful, long beer fueled conversations that went well into the night. It was one of the best experiences of my life!

Man, when i went there in april 1992, it was almost a ghost town. No tour guides, just a lady at a museum, and the courthouse was open but deserted. I got to wander around it at my leisure. One day, I've got to go back. Love your presentations!

Thank you! Lincoln is generally a sleepy community, but depending on the time of year, it can be pretty busy. One of the things that sets Lincoln apart is that it is a place where you take your time and really soak up its history. We have some great new content in the works. We hope you enjoy it!

Interesting and informative. Excellent photography job pics/maps enabling viewers to better understand what the orator was describing. Class A research project. Excellent virtual tour of the building. I had the good fortune to visit Lincoln perhaps 30 years ago. A very good investment preserving the building. It's my understanding a 9 foot tall bronze statue of the kid. Was erected a few years ago.

Awesome tour thanks! Loved it. However, there is no historical record that Ollinger's shotgun was in the armory as you attest. The only mention in any historical document regarding the location of the shotgun comes from Pat Garrett's own book... An Authentic Life, Chapter XXII: _"He then ran to my office and got a double-barrelled shot-gun. This gun was a very fine one, a breech-loader, and belonged to Olinger."_ Sounds like he was exceedingly familiar with the weapon and knew exactly where it was kept. Regardless, Garrett's account on this matter is the only one we have. Thank you for your hard work keeping history alive!

Brushy Bill Roberts described how the top story of the building was very accurately when he entered it with the lawyer who recorded his stories....... Brushy Bill said he asked Bell to undo his floor lock ( he was chained to the floor ) so he could go to the outhouse. When Bell went into Garrets office to get the key Billy slipped one hand out of the cuff.... When Bell bent down to undo the lock, Billy hit him across the head with the loose part of the chain and grabbed Bells revolver. ( Bells injury report states clearly that he had cuts to the head ) He then instructed Bell to go into the armory ( he intended to lock him inside while he made his escape ) As Bell Passed the stairs he lunged down the steps....Billy claimed thas as his legs were shackled ( could only take small steps ) , he had to jump/dive and slide across the floor to get to the steps. He fired Bells gun as he slid to the top of the staircase....the bullet hit the wall and bounced off entering Bell under his arm and came out the other side.

Just an incredible video! I've been reading/researching Billy for several years now, and some of the things you state in the video were new to me---especially the ones which dispute what i believed were facts: the bullet hole at the bottom of the stairs, for example. Would you mind listing some of your sources? It would help me a great deal in my knowledge of the Kid.

some yrs ago forensic scientist who also did work at the oj simpsom murder trial back in the 90, came and used a chemical that show blood on surfaces even though it had been cleaned up and was not easily visible to the naked eye. anyway, i got a photo that purported to show a massive amt of blood at the top of the 2nd floor stairway where bell and him tangled and bell ended up killed. i actually got the photo at this location. so what of this?

Murphy was not a nice guy.... he was very crooked to the various ranchers and cowboys in that area. My Gr. Grand Father was a Constable Judge just not far from here....But was East of Lincoln across the Texas line at a place called Tascosa, TX.... the court House is still standing there and is now a Museum along with a cemetery. I am a gr. Grand Daughter of Marion R. Armstrong.

He got blamed for the killing of sheriff Brady who was little more than a Murphy henchman but Matthews was there at the time Billy hated Matthews as you said he would have been shooting at Matthews I believe but regardless Billy got blamed for all of it even though there was multiple people shooting at the sheriff. Billy was actually wounded by Matthews who was hiding behind a barrel a bullet from Matthew's ripped a gash in Billy sly

I have always been interested in whether today's Americans know their European roots and what they think about being European themselves. Because if you take an Apple tree from Italy, for example, and plant it in Japan, it will not start bearing Grapes, but will establish an Apple, the same happens with people. My question is do you feel European or what? Thanks.
