Uhtred loved Brida, i believe he tried to love Mildreth. He loved Iseult and of course Gisela. Beocca was right he loved love and i don't think that's wrong. What makes me so angry with Aethelflaed is she was going to run away with Erik giving up England but chose Mercia over Uhtred. I'm so curious where season 5 takes Uhtred and the boys . Anyone miss Alfred? Dawson was fantastic.

Aethelflaed’s love for Mercia is no different from Uhtred's first wife's love for God. They didn't choose Uhtred after all 🙂 I like Aethelflaed even less! When Uhtred was chosen to be a temporary king of Mercia, she didn’t agree with him and said he was not a right person. I think she could’ve been an advisor to him, stand behind him and of course she could make any decisions for Mercia because Uhtred would allow her to do that. And yet they could be together in that case! But noo!! she is too ambitious, she chose to remain chaste to be Lady of Mercia, indirectly give up the relationship with Uhtred 🙂 what a woman!! In return for what he’s done for her family and her country, she also agreed to trade Uhtred’s daughter to the Danes 🙂 Well, if it weren't for his daughter who didn't mind this, I would absolutely hate Aetheflaed 🙂 Although Uhtred’s love life is already meaningless to me, I still hope he ends up with another woman than with Aetheflaed. Actually I quite like Eadith in ss4.

@@KristiinaBerg this is now a little older, but maybe you will still read it: They wouldn't have accepted him with her or the other way round, as both of them were to only be temporary rulers and having them together would have made them and their offspring strong claimants to the throne with the support of the people aswell. That was never a real possibility and let's be honest here: Uhtred would have never been a good king, he is to rash and emotional for that and he wouldn't have even wanted to be king, if you have seen Game of Thrones then Robert Baratheon is the king I would have imagined him to become: A great warrior sitting on a throne they don't want and living a life they didn't ask for

Thanks for this video as well. This one really captures the torment in Uhtread. I wonder how this last relationship will change Uhtread. I think this really hurt him (it was too painful to stay). Especially when she said the reasons he wasn't right for Mercia (Good Lord it was only supposed to be temporary anyway) and he could have been diplomatic! Yeah, maybe he should have walked away - but he has loved her since she was a child and he will always love her. He will need to get over her, and it will be final.
